Mitsunari had settled down for a bit though he was rather hoping people showed up soon. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary on the other bank, but it scouting was never wasted time. Though one should hope the soldiers couldn't see him ( ... )

Maybe he should try asking, it was unlikely to hurt anything and if it did... well it would be better to do that before the kids got here.

"Hello?" He called softly, doubting that it would carry in the rain but not wanting the plan to completely be lost.

Mitsunari waved back at Link a bit lost, as the back of his head kept whispering horrible things that she might have done to cause this. Somehow the creature didn't seem sad so it'd be unforgivably rude to voice any of thoughts.

He also leaned over looking at Link and asked "Or I guess... fish people?"

But somehow he was sure that there hadn't been one yesterday and that this was just another game.

Youji looked at Mitsunari as though he'd grown two head, and his rocking slowed, head tilting. "...Fish people?" he repeated, coming closer to the river and peering in. "What do you mean?"

It was probably unnecessarily but Mitsunari looked over at Youji before clearly nodding at Link. "Fish people. Please say this isn't new and she isn't playing with us some more?" He voice rose much higher then he ever wanted to his range to reach on that last question, and he absentmindedly lifted a hand to check the binding where still in place. Everything seemed to be still bond flat.

He didn't want to be a fish person and he especially didn't want to be one while current... things were happening. At least as long as he could hide everything.

Youji's eyes grew round, and he stepped to stand behind Mitsunari, keeping him between himself and the...fish thing.

"Kill it!" he ordered. It was creepy looking, and he didn't like it at all.

"What? Why? It hasn't been hostile. Have you already met?" Mitsunari turned to stare at Youji for half a second before realizing that that might be leaving his back exposed.

He noticed that Youji was moving behind him and taking the role of the non-combatant. That was fine; it left him in better control of the situation and at no point was that something he felt should be in the Bakeneko's possession.

And the fish person seemed to trying to reassure them more then anything.

He did pull out his Tessen and fanned it out next to himself, a bit more space between the other parties seemed like it would probably make everyone more comfortable.

"But it's groooss," he whined, glaring at it and nudging Mitsunari's back with the pads of his fingers. "Get rid of it. I don't like it." It was simple enough to his. Gross, annoying, or useless things should be gotten rid of, it was as simple as that.

Gross? Mitsunari didn't really see what Youji was getting at... Sure he didn't want to suddenly be a fish person but he rather thought it was kind of pretty, in a thank god it isn't me sort of way.

"Youji; do you really want to..."

At this point Link changed and Mitsunari froze.

He very carefully didn't move. The situation seemed to be under control, the fish person wasn't a fish person any more but it didn't seem to any more hostile then it was a minute ago.

Somehow he didn't think that he had just missed the fish person in the river earlier.

He really hoped that the change wouldn't hurt when the rest of them caught them.

Youji's attitude seemed to change with the change, and he peered out from behind Mitsunari, lips curling into a soft smile. "Ohh, cuuute," he cooed, cheeks flushing. He wasn't particularly concerned with what it had been now that it was cute.
