Summary: Chase asks Nico to teach him to put the pieces back together.
"Will you teach me?"
Nico looked up from the old t-shirt she was cutting apart. Chase stood in the doorway, twisting his hands together. He obviously didn’t want to enter the room, and seeing all the fabric strewn around the floor, she didn’t blame him. "Why do you want to learn how to take apart a shirt?"
"Not the taking apart, I can do that anyways." He shrugged. The motion brought her attention to his bare shoulders. "I take the sleeves off pretty much every shirt I own. I want to learn the putting together part."
Nico put down her needle. "I still don’t get you. But okay, if you want to learn to sew, I’m not going to stop you. You got anything in mind?"
She was surprised to see his blush. "I dunno... can I make a blanket from someone’s clothes?"
Nico’s brow wrinkled in thought as she considered what he said. Clothes were at a premium since their money began running low. Right now, she was reconstructing shirts to fit Molly, who was growing like a weed. Where did he get enough clothing to make a blanket?
Judging by the frown that was forming on his face, Chase seemed to sense her reluctance. He crossed his arms across his chest and growled, "Look, I don’t need to learn. I just thought it would be nice to do something with her things..." He turned and began to walk back down the hall to his room.
Her things? Nico nearly stabbed her finger with the needle at the thought that sprinted through her head. Gert. He wanted something to remember her. "Wait, Chase." He turned and glowered at her. Well. This was going to be fun.
"I’ll show you the right way to make a knot in your thread."
