Age difference: So what? Age is just a damn number. It don't mean shit.
Looks: Are these people that fucking hung up on a person's physical appearance that they ignore what's most important? (That being your sparkling personality, of course!) If so, then it's their loss, because they are too stupid to see what is truly important. And it's NOT looks! (But I think you're pretty, if it's any consolation.)
Preggers: Ah, I'm not even going to touch this one. Just ignore them. They're idiots.
No support: You tell him that if they start jumping on your case, he damn well better defend you! That not saying anything bullshit don't cut it. If he wants to be with you, he's going to have to stand up to them and tell them to QUIT JUDGING!! It would be one thing if they knew you, but they don't.
Of course, they could just being pains in your arse because they don't want him to settle down at his age. That could be the root of all this crap. The thing is, you probably can't alleviate all their concerns, but the age difference/pregnancy stuff could be addressed. Just don't get defensive. It gives them something else to use against you. Just stay calm and address their concerns like a grown-up. Maybe if they see that you have a level of maturity about you, they may lay off.
/end pep talk
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kris is damn lucky to have you! You are a wonderful person and a terrific friend.
Can I just say that I love your pep talks hahahaha
The whole thing just had me so pissed off that I had to vent the anger somewhere so LJ it was... and then hopefully when I do have to meet with them face to face I can bite my tongue... But nothing further has been said about actually arranging a time to have a chat with them, and I'm not bringing it up again to remind anyone, so will just see if they forget hahaha
I'm glad you enjoy my pep talks so much. I hope that when you do meet them that they are civil to you. I know it's easier when the parents like you, but if they don't, it isn't the end of the world. Lord knows I've had some fights with my mother-in-law over how pushy she can be. But mainly I leave it to Darren to tell her when she's being a pain. :)
I'm getting your Christmas pressie together. I'm hoping to get it in the mail to you this week.
Your pressie is getting posted tomorrow, I had to arrange to start work early so I could take an hour for lunch (normally we only get half hour and that just ain't long enough to stand in the damn line at the post office smack bang in the middle of the capital city at lunchtime - People everywhere!! yuck!).
So it being sent tomorrow..... I wish I could see your face when it was being opened.... particularly your birthday pressie, hopefully you will forgive me for it being late

Speaking of birthday pressies, you'll never guess what turned up in my mailbox on my birthday. (Hint: Jen (Stray21) sent it!)
