I should just sit down, write the detailed update, even if it takes forever and a day. But the short version is:
- I had a great weekend.
- I love the Oregon East Symphony! I am now officially a member.
- I heard a scary story involving kittens.
- I was almost compelled to join a bluegrass jam session when I recognized a bunch of songs from my youth.
- I walked around, looked at things, enjoyed spring.
- I sat in the car while Bruce bought emergency gig pants at Wal-Mart in under 10 minutes, less than an hour before the concert.
- I met several wonderful new people, including a published and award winning Canadian poet. She was a truly remarkable Lady.
- I am seriously considering relocating. This won't happen soon soon, if it were to happen at all, but it is in the back of my mind. Basically Pendleton is just like Ellensburg except without the whole second-rate state college going on. Small, friendly, with a healthier economy and not quite such bitterly cold winters. All the symphonies I regularly play in wouldn't be that much more of a commute. What I'd trade off for having to drive farther for Yakima would be offset by how much closer Walla Walla would be. Anyway, it's a thought.
That's it for now.
