I am warning you now this is Harry Potter post, so for those crazy people who don't love the wonder that is HP you can skip this.
OK so my question is:
Why isn't Snape dead? I mean, he should be shouldn't he? In GoF at the graveyard Voldemort speaks of 3 DeathEaters who aren't present:
1) One too cowardly to return,... he will pay.
2) One, who I believe have left me forever...he will be killed of course.
3) One who remains my most faithful servant, and who has already re-entered my service.
Now the third person is Barty Crouch Jr, yeah? And then the first two I assumed were Krakaroff and Snape. Now we've come a whole book since then and Snapey - bless his lil cotton socks - is still alive and well. Why is that?
We all know he's loyal to Dumbledore, and to Harry in a way, as he did alert the Order to what Harry was up to in OotP. But isn't he also having contact with Malfoy Sr, who Voldemort could have easily ordered to kill Snape.
Or is this one of JKR wonderful ideas in that she has completely messed with our heads and Snape is actually the faithful servant, possibly?
In honour of the wonder that is Severus Snape here's a little Snape icon. I lifted it from this site
