7/13 Bearcats

The other day, I watched a feature on a certain group of animals.

The subject was about, in China, the animals living deep in the bamboo thickets, on the brink of extinction, and the establishments that are picking up the task of helping those animals escape the horrible senario of extinction, by protecting them and letting them flourish.

In those facilities, cute, adorable baby animals were playing with toys, rolling around, and it seemed like time was passing gently.

The caretakers were busily moving about; it seems like the ♀’s mating season has begun, and after rushing to welcome the ♂ into the same room, they observed the situation.

However, the ♀indicated rejection, so they tried with a different ♂.

It was a success.

20 minutes after the copulation began, they were separated.

The caretakers surrounded the cage of the relaxed ♀ and suddenly injected her with anesthesia.

Quickly transporting her to the facilities' hospital; in the operating room, they tied up the limbs of the sleeping ♀, and performed further fertilization by artifiical insemination.

She was safely fertilized and had a baby inside.

The applauses resounded.

?

Hmm?

Isn't something strange?

By human beings' own selfish reasons, they were driven to the crisis of extinction, and in order to do artificial insemination, they were put under anesthesia.

For those animals, surrounded by nature without any interventions, reproduce on their own, search for food with their own strength, raise children and slowly grow old.

I'm thinking, "Isn't that the ideal?"

The numerous creatures that have been on the earth so far, breed and leave offsprings, and at times, they face natural disasters. There are species that go extinct, there are species that somehow live through it and continue living on, and there are species that somehow lived through it, but go extinct due to human means.

Various kinds.

To obtain something, something else is driven into danger.
And by the time you realize it, it's too late and you mourn about the situation that cannot be recovered.

Self-centered?

However, the result is a reality in order for someone to acquire a better living.

Medaka
Toki
Iriomote wildcat

It would be great if we can possess as much as possible of both.

What can be done?
