We have five more days in our house. It's starting to feel not like home anymore, particularly the lounge where 25 boxes of books are stacked against a wall. I'm not sure how many boxes of books we've ended up with.

My room feels mostly like my room - there are boxes in front of the empty bookcase so I can't see it and most of the stuff I've packed was in drawers or on top of my wardrobe, so my room still mostly feels like my room which is good.

Still have lots to pack, but have started the cleaning. Washed the kitchen curtains this evening as they were filthy. They're still not particularly nice, but much better than they were. I also dusted very grubby pelmets, cleaned window sills and various other flat surfaces. I'm not particularly worried about the cleaning being up to scratch for the final inspection - a light going over and vaccum and it should be fine.

For all that we're all freaking out, everything is actually under control and it will be absolutely fine.

Had my team work Christmas do today at one of the partner's houses. It was sheltered and sunny and the vague theme was jandals. At some point I rolled up my jeans a bit and lazed in a chair in the sun. Fortunately, hats and sunscreen were available, so I didn't get burned. Ate and drank and relaxed and did nothing.

It was a good day.
