sex

So all last week there have been talks about radical sex and gender stuff on campus by our queer and gender groups. Unfortunately I kept having violin/orchestra/class/labs during these but I made it to the last one Friday night.

Oh it was very interesting. This was the BDSM one. Basically, I learned how to properly flog someone, which whips are good for what, where to hit people, and all kinds of other things. By watching it happen. Yeah there was a demonstration.

I would have liked to have gone to the polyamory one. But it was during Savoy rehearsal ;_;.

Also I realized that I don't understand sexual orientation at all. It doesn't make sense. Well it sort of does but then it doesn't. And I don't like it at all.

Plus why does it seem to be based on the bearer of the title's gender but the object of attraction's sex? That is not cool.

I'm feeling more and more like this is some big social construction. But maybe not. Well, okay, a lot of it. But I could totally see it being all like:

Oh yay, we all have no sexual orientation! We like anyone!
Woohoo! Special mutation appears that makes you prefer Men! Girl A now prefers men and thus gets preggo a lot more than girl B who has no preference so she does girls just as much (and has half as many kids?)
Gene doesn't care what your sex or gender is! It's still useful even if half the time it has the opposite effect! (aka - man gets male preference gene and only goes for men, thus having few or no children.)
Gene passes on!

Yeaah there's my story. OK it's 2 am and I'm massively tired and I don't even know what I'm talking about so enjoy and whatever I'll post more later.

what, story
