Hi there LJ

It's been 2 years since I visited LJ? Wow...

I had bariatric surgery on 08/24/10. It was a huge process to get approved for the surgery - nutritionist appointments, therapy sessions, endoscopy, multiple doctor visits and a lot of blood work. So far it's been worth the process as I'm down 41lbs already (about 30lbs since surgery).

Today was a little tough as I experienced my first side effect. Something called "the foamies" or "sliming" - nasty. I won't be drinking orange juice again anytime soon. I didn't even think about the sugar factor and acid in the orange juice until it was to late. I never want to experience that again.

I go see my surgeon on Wednesday and I figure she's going to release me back to work for Monday. I thought this LOA would feel like a really long vacation but it sooooo doesn't. I still have issues bending down to pick something up off the floor - pain and stretching sensation in my belly. I'm still a little sore on my left side but that is getting better ever day. I haven't had to take a pain pill in about a week.

It's difficult trying to get all my protein and liquids in.
