A few of you asked about Rascal so here is the long sad story.

Friday, Feb 8th - It started snowing while I was at work.  I hate driving in the snow, but I can't leave because I'm a manager.  My schedule then only had me at work until 3:30 p.m. anyway.  Needless to say that the last two people left on my team left with me at 3:30 p.m.  There was

That's so sad, Nisey . . . I'm tearing up just reading it. I know how special he was to you. *hugs* I'm glad your parents were nearby so they could be there for you. It would have been terrible not to have anyone to lean on just then.

I'll miss him too & I only knew him via his pics & your stories. He had so much character--a truly unforgettable kitty.

Thank god my parents dont live far away because until they came I was just a mess.
Rascal was such a bad ass and he touched (bit) everyone who knew him. ;)

Wow, just wow. I would have been so scared and heartbroken if that happened. It was really hard for me when we had to put my cat Nymph to sleep, since she and liver and kidney disease, mom buried her in the backyard, I was so upset I could watch. Then my bird Vanilla died right in my shirt while I was holding her, cause I new her time had come... Death is a horribly hard thing to go through it its someone you love. Rascal always sounded like a great cat, I always wanted to meet him :( *hug hug hug*

Yeah, it was just a really really bad night. I'll never forget the sound of Rascal crying and the feeling of helplessness I had. Rascal will always be in my heart.
At least I've got Lucky and Lulu now and those two are keeping me busy. ^__^

I'm almost in tears reading that. I'm so sorry.

That is really, really sad. Did you ever find out what exactly happened to make him pass so suddenly? I hate it when loved one's leave us, even if they didn't pass, just leave (like two of my cat's) it's really heartbreaking.

I don't know what else to say but... *hugs*.

Nope, we never found out for sure.
My friend's mother had a dog that passed away in a very similar way. Because the dog was a puppy at the time they did an autopsy and found that she had an aneurism. So we think that is what Rascal had... or possibly a heart attack.
