Between chewing, Changmin replies, “I thought you always would, hyung,”

He runs comforting fingers through Changmin’s soft hair: “I’m helping you go to sleep,” he whispers, and Changmin closes his eyes.

“It’s true that we’ve all been living in one residence for a while now, but you should know that I still lock the door to the bathroom when I’m dressing up,” Changmin informs the skeptical Kibum.

“I once read a book that had a thousand different ways to say ‘I love you’,” Changmin says, and Jaejoong wonders what the hell that has to do with anything.

“I would make a much better king than either of them,” Jaejoong hums after watching an episode of Goong over dinner, and Changmin nods in agreement.

“Where would one be in life without studying?” Changmin asks everyone, trying to make a point, but Jaejoong replies simply, “I’d be at home.”

Changmin takes off his glasses momentarily to look at Jaejoong, and he thinks, He still looks very pretty from here.

Jaejoong enters the hallway and spots Changmin, who automatically says, “I wasn’t waiting for you- I was, um…,” and turns around rapidly to walk down the other direction.

“I haven’t changed from the time I was seventeen,” Jaejoong assures Yunho; Changmin stops toothbrushing to tell Yunho not to believe him.

“You’re taller than me, but you still have to follow what I tell you to do since I’m the oldest,” Jaejoong had dictated to him on his birthday; Changmin had said, “Do you have to tell me this every year?”
Need
He wakes up to find Jaejoong sharing his bed, but he doesn’t push him away; they need the sleep and dawn is in another hour and Jaejoong just feels so warm.
Attention
Keeping his eyes closed, Changmin feigns sleep on the couch, but his ears are listening in on Jaejoong’s movements within the room; he breathes in sharply when Jaejoong gets close.

Changmin stops his silent reading to watch Jaejoong speaking to himself: “Heart, mind, and soul,” Jaejoong repeats dramatically in English.

“I couldn’t play hide-and-seek when I was a kid,” Changmin confesses out of the blue, “my legs were too long for all the best hiding places...ah, Jaejoong hyung, why are you laughing?"

Jaejoong doesn’t understand Changmin’s fixation with the Harry Potter series, and for some reason, it bothers him.

“Open your eyes, I know you’re not asleep,” Jaejoong laughs after the third day of their game.

“Remember when they made Changmin get spiky hair for Tri-angle?" Junsu inquires randomly, and Jaejoong instinctively pats Changmin’s hair down.

“They promised not to do that to my hair again,” Changmin says embarrassedly, “but, ... I thought it looked sort of cool !”

“You’re a great singer,” Changmin compliments; Jaejoong beams at him and tells him that’s why he got into Dong Bang Shin Ki.

After watching some clips of their concert performances, Jaejoong suddenly realizes something essential.

When had Changmin stopped being a child…when had he grown up?

“OMG!” Yoochun exclaims, and Changmin and Jaejoong laugh simultaneously at their inside joke.

“I want to ride behind Yunho hyung’s motorcycle,” Changmin says, and Jaejoong tells him he can’t because two guys can’t be on the same motorcycle.

“But hyung, you ride on it with him sometimes,” Changmin gripes, and Jaejoong argues, “Changmin, he’s a bad driver... he almost got me killed once!”
Precious
“Did you just put down my driving skills?” Yunho inquires, and when neither answer, he tells them that now they both can’t ride on his precious motorcycle.
Hunger
“I’m so hungry now,” Changmin says, “I wanted to go out and buy good food”; Jaejoong pokes his cheek and says, "Be happy-- I'll cook just for you."
Torn
Tearing Pooh Bear’s shirt suggestively, Changmin says, “It needs individuality, like I do” and Jaejoong is afraid that he is being serious.
Power
“If I was King of Korea,” Jaejoong announces after another episode of Goong, “I’d appoint all of you into the high offices; and yes, Changmin, you may be the princess-- you don’t have to ask me.”
Bother
“Why are you sleeping in my bed again?” Changmin asks sleepily, and pushes Jaejoong over the side of the bed and onto the floor.
Safe
“Have you ever wondered what it’d be like if we got stabbed by a crazy Shinhwa fan?” Jaejoong asks, and Changmin looks at him to say obviously, “But we have bodyguards.”
Ghost
“But, say we did get stabbed and died from bloodloss, then we could haunt all the people we don’t like very much,” Jaejoong thinks aloud; Changmin nods and adds, “Don't forget about flying...wait, can ghosts fly?"
Shadow
When you turn around to leave, I want to be your shadow, Changmin professes to Jaejoong in a dream.
Vision
In the morning, Jaejoong gives him a free reading: “It tells me that you are going to make me laugh within five seconds”; Changmin looks at him and says plainly, “Hyung, you should leave fortunetelling to your dead girlfriend.”

“She’s pretty, isn’t she?” Jaejoong says, pointing to a picture of his eldest sister; Changmin murmurs, “She looks like you.”

“I also once read a book that had a thousand different ways to say ‘Goodbye’,” Changmin discloses, and Jaejoong tells him he reads too many pointless things.
Naked
“I just opened a fan package from America in the mail that contained a porn magazine,” Changmin announces; Jaejoong rushes into his room to throw it out before Changmin can tell him he was only joking.
Mad
Changmin misses the high note and instead of being openly angry with himself, he goes to the park and stares out at the transient clouds with Jaejoong.
Child
“You’re still a child, Changmin,” he says softly.
Now
“You’re right, maybe right now, I am one,” he replies in the same fragile tone.
Hold
“Isn’t it a new feeling for you, to hold a girl that close?” Jaejoong questions Changmin after the rerun is over.
Eye
Lately they haven’t had enough time left in the day to sleep; Changmin points to his own eyebags in the mirror, and then at Jaejoong’s.
Wash
Changmin spends a lot of time washing his face throroughly and Jaejoong tells him, “They won’t go away that easily" but Changmin says that wasn't what he was trying to do.
Fortune
One afternoon, Jaejoong grabs his hand and Changmin says, “Are you giving me another fortune reading?” and Jaejoong smiles, tells him he’s so innocent.
Wall
Jaejoong finds himself wanting to own a rocket ship when Changmin sighs distantly and says, “I want to see the Great Wall of China from the moon.”
History
“We have a lot of history in just a few years,” Jaejoong says one day, and Changmin ponders about it for a long time.

Someone who is shivering is crawling into his bed: “I'll keep you warm," Jaejoong promises the intruder, and a soft voice whispers, "I believe you."
