Jul 20, 2007 17:05

I received an email message a while ago that asked me to do some meme. With nothing better to do, I chose to comply rather than face the consequences. I'm not even sure he reads this, but even so, enjoy.

#1: Stephen Ward was born Juan Esteban Cortez del Ward to a young couple in Central Colombia in the early 1980s. His parents owned and operated a failing coffee plantation, which was dangerously close to being seized by local drug lords. His birth parents surrendered young Esteban to the drug lords in exchange for their protection payment. The young child travelled through Central America inside shipments of cocaine, and entered the border into America. In time, he ended up in the American Southeast, where he resides to this day. His name and appearance were changed through intense plastic surgery and reconditioning in order to aid his transition to the racially and culturally homogenous Southside Virginia.

#2: A shortwave numbers station known as M11 transmits the message "STEPHEN T WARD" in Morse Code every 10 minutes. The message has been transmitted since first discovered in the mid 1950's by the CIA scanning for Soviet messages. The origin and intention of this message is unclear even to this day.

#3: Stephen Ward is an avid collector of guitar picks. His collection consists of over 1,000 guitar picks, each cataloged by performer, date, and venue. His collection includes international acts, regional country and bluegrass performers, and Top 40 perfomers. The prize of his collection is a Chuck Berry guitar pick from a performance in Miami in June 1960, valued at $4,000 by auction house Sotheby's.

#4: Stephen Ward was largely responsible for the dismissal of his middle school principal after providing evidence of the principal's embezzlement of school funds. Stephen entered the school after hours and accessed the school's financial records and cross-examined them with state disbursement records to find over $12,000 unaccounted for. He continued his research to find the principal had spent the money on a sex tour of Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. Stephen won a local journalism award at the age of 11 for his investigations.

#5: Stephen Ward is barred from entering the premises of any casino that is under the jurisdiction of the Nevada State Gaming Board.

#6: After a childhood accident, Stephen Ward has a deep phobia towards bathtubs. He will not enter any room with a bathtub, and instead chooses to shower outside with a solar-heated camp shower. Surprisingly, he has no fear of swimming pools or small bodies of water.

#7: Stephen Ward has a bail bondsman license in the states of Virginia and North Carolina. He possessed a license for the state of Kentucky, but it was revoked in 2005 after the accidental injury of an innocent bystander. He is also a registered notary public in all three states.

#8: During high school, Stephen worked at Chesterfield Manor, a local living history museum themed on an old plantation from pre-Civil War Virginia. Here, visitors can learn about tobacco and cotton production techniques at the time, as well as experience the arts of the time. Stephen played the role of Winston Chesterfield, the eldest son who went on to serve in the Virginia House of Delegates. Stephen taught visitors about writing with an inkwell and pen, calligraphy, and a game called "jack-dandy", played by the sons and daughters of local planation owners.
