God, she was tired. Settling back into her air plane seat, Buffy took a deep, relaxing breath before asking the stewardess for a vodka. The woman didn’t even blink, despite the early hour.
Faith was officially a plant. Or well, one that moved around of seemingly its own volition and making a sound every now and again to indicate things. Basically, she was Buffy in her 'Tree good, fire bad' phase. Katerina was right, it was scary to see Faith retreat into herself like that.
Buffy’s appearance at her bedside hadn’t gotten any reaction from Faith. Buffy sticking around for a whole week didn’t earn her even a glance in her direction. The blonde had helped bathing her, clothing her, putting her in bed and getting her out of it in the morning. It had been a small relief that Faith at least remembered how to feed herself if food was presented to her and seemed to be able to answer nature’s call herself if led to the bathroom. Buffy groaned and sunk back further into her seat.
“Another drink, Miss?”, the stewardess offered. Buffy gave her a nod and a half-smile in thanks as the beverage was placed in front of her. She gulped it down and closed her eyes. The Scoobies were never going to believe her.

Cordelia glared at the phone. She’d already called Russia five times today and the conversation had gone exactly the same way the others had gone in the last few weeks. They wouldn’t even listen to her, they just hung up the second they recognized her voice. She thought again of how much she wanted to go out there and see Faith for herself. Angel had put his foot down, though, saying she was needed a lot more in Los Angeles than in Moscow. Faith was mourning, but she was in a safe place. The people of LA were in constant danger with new demons popping up left and right. Cordelia hadn’t been able to protest, she knew the Master Vampire was right.
Well then, those Moscovites might be tough, but she was a half demon! She grabbed the horn and pressed redial.

Katerina stared outside her window at the dirt road that had carried Buffy away from the mansion. Faith hadn’t reacted at all to her appearance. She had hoped for something, anything, to change in Faith’s behaviour at the sight of her old sparring partner. Instead she had just seen the rants continuing in her head, the blame game she played with herself over the death of her husband and child. Katerina sighed, twirling the vodka in her glass around slowly. The sedatives would only calm her for that much longer. After that, the blonde had no idea what to do to keep the Slayer at peace.
