Last year my knitting group knit bears for
http://www.motherbearproject.org/I did not participate at that point; I had just had a miscarriage and wasn't up for knitting for children, and honestly, it seemed like a nice little feel good project, but one of those things that makes the giver feel good rather than the recipient. Given the enormity of the AIDS crisis in Africa, what difference can a little bear make?
But then I saw the photos of the kids receiving their bears:

So I made some bears. We're sending them next week, but I certainly will make more.
