The exodus from the touchstone of Madison Street was threefold. Passing that street makes me wince now, but one day it's edges will wear away & dissolve into the electricity of this city & its memories.
I've moved to Greenpoint. For those of you who aren't Brooklynites, it's an area known for its Polish & Italian population, with a fair smattering of Hispanic people & hipsters. This will only be the second time in my life that i've lived in a predominately white area; the other time was last summer when i lived in a very small town in Northeastern Germany. I'm not sure how this is going to feel or if it will feel different at all.
