when i was young (maybe eight or so) i watched watership down and was subsequently SCARRED FOR LIFE. those rabbits filled me with absolute terror. i've recently watched the film again and though the terror has subsided, i'm now filled with a sense of horror at ever having been allowed to watch it in the first place. i'm trying to remind myself that it was the eighties and most parents (mine included) saw two basics things about the film which were, 1) it was animated, and 2) it was about rabbits, and green lighted the film without taking a closer look, but still, that's no excuse for terrifying your children. the rabbit in the snare with blood coming from its mouth, the rabbit in the burrow that's almost bitten to death for daring to run away, the dog at the end who goes on a bunny killing spree, and, quite frankly, the screamingly unnecessary amount of bright red blood all over an otherwise washed out piece of animation just goes to show that the tv networks had it in for kids just as much as anyone else did. and to show the film at easter FOR YEARS afterwards was just cruel.

still, it's something to bond over with strangers.

anyway, hi guys. long time no post, huh?

things are progressing here, although the radio silence with continue. i'm not having a good time of it personally (i feel like a pressure cooker ready to go off) and i don't really want to splooge that all over your flists. mostly i just wanted to drop in and say that i'm still reading your posts, i'm just not replying or doing anything even remotely social. keep on keeping on and all that. ILU. ♥

fail, can't make this shit up, a whole lot of nothing, o.0, tv, crapness, my poor eyes!, give me a bubble to hide in, not so good, experiments in disaster, wtf
