Let it first be said that there is alot to be said for returning the favor!
Living life over here. Not necessarily the good life, but life just the same & one worth living, I might add. Funny little thing... was told today that I might be in danger of having a sexual harassment claim filed against me. Hooray!!!! My evil plans are all finally falling into place. K, let me know what you think of this:
There's a really hot guy at work that we will call "Mike" (names have been changed to protect the sorta innocent). Anyway, "Mike" is beyond adorable and looks very, very similar to Orli (silentloki can testify on my behalf on that one). Have been watching him since around January & most frequently refer to him as either Smarmy Orli or Pretty Boy. Fast forward several months, I'm in HR, dating Eli, all's going hunky-dory & who should start helping out in HR but "Mike". Needless to say, I'm enjoying the view, right? Right.
Well, we start talking, he's a sweet guy, knows Eli fairly well, just got married & his wife's a sweetie, too. Again, all's well. He finds out about the little crush & we joke about it. As a matter of fact, it actually becomes quite the office joke & even Eli is made to suffer at times. Nobody seems to have a fucking problem, nobody says anything of a sexual nature or anything.Just seemingly harmless fun at my expense (when will these people learn that I don't get embarrassed???).
Then today I get pulled aside by my manager. She says that she was told I have a crush on "Mike". I'm sitting there thinking, "This is news?". I actually gaffawed because I was shocked she hadn't already heard about it. She proceeds to tell me that she has been told about the crush, that he is aware of it (DUH!!!! we've had entire fucking conversations about it, half of which he initiated) and says that he is, and I quote, "extremely uncomfortable" about the entire situation. She then hands me a form explaining sexual harrassment & tells me I should read over it, make myself aware of the guidelines & be careful around "Mike". FUCK! I used to handle sexual harrassment complaints for employees & had to fire one person because of I decision that I came to. Like I don't know the fucking guidelines!!
I go spew the pile of horseshit onto a friend, she tracks down "Mike" & proceeds to tell him the entire thing. He makes a beeline for my desk, wanting to talk. Not feeling that the time was right & wait until he's about to leave for the day & we get a chance to talk. I apologize, he says there's no reason ('cause he's nowhere near offended, see?) and we both begin to wonder where this insane lie came from. The conclusion that was drawn was that either someone else has it in for me & told my manager this whopper, in which she made the decision to believe them point blank, ddin't even bother finding out if "Mike" was indeed uncomfortable & used the scare tactic on me for virtually no reason OR she just decided to tell me a flat out lie. Either way, I'm fucking watching my back up there from now on! Eli & I managed to have a nice laugh over it, though.
Groceries to be bought. Must run like the wind. Will return & hopefully in less than 11 days this time...
