A common negative stereotype of a summer internship position is 'coffee-maker for your boss.' I would just like to document that this week, my mentor made ME tea. And gave me candy. How cool is that? A chemical engineer who manages multimillion dollar projects making me a hot beverage in the morning at work.
I feel so lucky to have chosen somewhat arbitrarily to work for a company that introduces its interns to the CEO, that gives us meaningful work while emphasizing work-life balance, that cares about the well-being of its employees, that makes waking up for a 5:40 am vanpool to the field 5 (or 4, every other week)days a week something I enjoy.
