It seems that you have an Eevee... Congratulations on her hatching.

[Red is actually quite happy to see Demyx so excited!]

Last week... Ah, the eggs that Lyra had, right?

Y-Yeah, those ones!

[Oh Red you have no idea how happy he is to see you.]

Hey, Red--Uh... What should I feed her when she's hungry? I mean, is there a place where I can get stuff for her?

You don't have to worry. They're actually easy to feed. Pokemon can eat fruits, such as apples and berries, and even human food. But, they all have different tastes...

As you're- ah, I guess I can call you her trainer from now on. But as her trainer, it's up to you to get to know your Eevee. I'm sure that it'll be easy for you to befriend her, Demyx.

Really? Phew. Good thing I've got a bunch of oranges and stuff in the fridge. I'll try some of that when she's not so sleepy.

Trainer, huh? That can't be too hard... I mean, who wouldn't wanna befriend such a cute little thing like her?

[Red laughs a bit. He can't agree more.] They're really cute, yes. I'm happy that you love her.

As she is a baby, she might have difficulties eating at first. You may have to cut or crush her food at first. But they usually grow well and strong.

Mm, "Trainer." That's what we're called... We are people who train our Pokemon. There is another type, called "Breeder," which focuses on nursing and raising Pokemon.

Tiny bites, got it!

Train 'em for what? Oh yeah, and this other girl--She said there were uhh... 'Evolotions'? What's that mean?

pristinestar July 19 2011, 17:15:59 UTC
We train them for battling. They may seem harmless, but Pokemon have various abilities. Depending on your style, and how you train them, they will learn different techniques.

Evolutions. At a certain point, Pokemon has grown strong enough, they may evolve to a different kind of Pokemon. You can call it a higher tier. But you may prevent them from evolving if they hold an Everstone.

Different Pokemon have different triggers, which causes them to evolve. Unfortunately, some of them need exposure to certain items from our world, such as a Moon Stone or a Water Stone. I'm not sure if we have them in the PokeMart...

I'm not gonna do that, man. I mean, I could teach her some self-defense stuff but I don't wanna see her get hurt 'n stuff.

Water stones? What's that--PokeMart? What's that?

[Yeah, he's probably sounding like a curious 5-year old right about now but he doesn't care. This is actually really interesting.]

Don't worry. [Red's smile turns assuring this time.] In the end, it's your choice to become a trainer or not. There are also people from my world who just chooses to have a Pokemon as a pet companion. There is nothing wrong with that...

Both the Moon Stone and the Water Stone are catalysts for evolving Pokemon. There are many others. I'm merely giving examples. But as you can tell from the name, the Water Stone is related to Water Type Pokemon.

[Aww, Demyx. :D Red doesn't mind conversing about this at all!] Well, the PokeMart... It's short for "Pokemon Mart." To put it simply, it's like a pet supplies store. Except it's focused on Pokemon.

ninthserenade July 19 2011, 17:35:20 UTC
Phew... That's a load off my chest.

So... The Moon ones are related to uh, Moon-type? And water--That's the kind you showed me when we met up last time, yeah? What one was that again?

[Soaking up all dis information like a sponge, man.] And there's one here in Vatheon?

Reply

pristinestar July 19 2011, 17:43:35 UTC
The Moon Stone doesn't have a specific type. And, not all Pokemon needs an evolution stone. In relation, not all Pokemon are capable to evolve as well. My Lapras is an example.

But, yes, there is a PokeMart here. It's in the Nostalgia Nook. [Not free. ;_;]

ninthserenade July 19 2011, 17:46:29 UTC
So... some don't evolve, some need stones and then some just evolve whenever they feel like it? That's kinda weird but also pretty awesome.

In the Nook, huh? [Luckily he's got a ton of tokens saved up on his little card.]

Isn't it? [He smiles again. It really is interesting, right?] Time and place also affect their evolution. And most of all, the level of affection that their owner and themselves share.

If you'd like, I can lead you to where it is. Just let me know when you want to go.

I really hope she likes me, then. I mean, I admit it'd be pretty neat to see her evolve but if she does I want her to pick when and stuff, yanno?

Hmm... How 'bout next week once she's a little more steady on her feet? When I go out I'm gonna carry her around in the hood of my coat 'til she's ready to run around on her own.

I'm sure. I can already tell that you have true love for your Pokemon. Just do your best, and it'll be all right...

And it's no problem, really. I'm free most of the time.

Whenever you need further help, you're welcome to give me a call, too.
