December - afterglow

December comes with a feeling of boredom.  All weekend, it felt like there was something that I was supposed to be doing.  and then it hit me - novel took up lots of my spare time.  I went straight from the end of Magestry to 1,600 words a day, and now... I'm sitting here, twiddling my thumbs.  I cleaned my room yesterday.  it was weird.

This weekend was fun.  Had dinner and twin peaks (the upsetting second season episode... well, if you've seen the show, it's the scene with the record skipping at the end, and is very unsettling.) with Meg, and Saturday went to hang out with my Dad (by which I mean move TVs with black holes inside of them) while luckier people went and got culture in Torrington.

After that, we went to Meg's and Mike Kinnally brought Rock Band down from boston.  Which was an extreme amount of fun.  The evening featured my sister and her husband (mystery guests!), the Kinnally, a missing USB dongle for the Kinnally's x-plorer controller, Artie being a jerkbag rock star (i hear that the game can sense this and gives you more points), Liz Rocking hard tasty abs on drums, Meg getting better and better on the bass, Moira weeping (then smiling (then Weeping(Then smiling))), and a 2-3am bedtime.

Sunday was a mad rush to Hartford so that the hate storm could be beaten.  IT sucked to cut the weekend short, but it was for the best, for the safety of everyone. I cleaned and organized more in my room, then made a new character (Vorgrath the Dwarven Locksmith and Rogue) for a campaign world that Angela was running.  It was a fun time (good DMing, Ange!) and even though I was up later than I wanted, it was satisfying.

So, in the end, it wasn't a boring weekend at all... the end of novel writing brings with it a feeling of something missing, I guess.

I took a couple of days off of writing as a break, but I have to get back to it, or else I'll lose it, like I did last year.  I don't want that to happen. So tonight, I'm going to work on last year's novel.  I'm going to kick it off with writing as much as I can about a piece of the story I haven't gotten into, so that I won't have to worry about getting the story read.  Then, story reading, and hopefully bed.

Other Projects to get busy on
-Leatherworking (I got my uncle's tools on the borrow, and want to make some pouches/belts)
-Magestry Plot (better earlier than later)
-D&D Modern zombie apocalypse campaign (An idea I've been mulling for a while.)

weekend, wrimo 2k6, rock band, plans, gaming
