Lost Magic

I excitedly picked up Lost Magic, today. I was immediately rewarded for doing so.

RPGs are a dime a dozen in the gaming industry so it takes a unique RPG for me to get stoked. (Like the Boktai games which are crazy hybrid RPGs and I LOVE them.)

Lost Magic is a sort of RPG/RTS and has several features which, while not all necessarily new, are culminated in to a unique experience for sure.

There are literally "up to 400" spells to learn over the game which are cast with the cool and quick rune-drawing system. You also learn a spell early on to capture monsters to use as your own. Fortunately, this actually doesn't feel like a Pokemon rip-off as once you catch one, from then on you can summon 3 at a time of each type for each mission. They will all level up as one as you progress whether or not they die and you can still summon them the next mission whether or not they die. Plus you find items you can equip to the monsters that enhance them.

Missions are RTS-like in nature but are quite interesting and fun to play and do require good strategy, planning and consideration.

The story is actually kind of unique and is interesting to watch. For one thing, they quickly put you in to the action and you learn the background more as you go along. This makes it feel more like you ARE the character rather than having this God-like overview of the story from day 1.

The graphics are cool and colorful and are nice too look at and the sound doesn't stick out to much but it's nice as well and well done.

The multiplay/wifi appears to be straight-up dueling including monsters and spells. You can choose preset settings or your own character setup to use. Sorry this isn't more detailed or accurate as I still need to try it out more.

Gotta go! Please ask questions or make comments and I'll get back to you ASAP!
