Every year in November...

Dear too-late concerned parents,

17 years ago you gave birth to the precious bundle of truancy and absence that is your son.
All that hard work you put in to make him the special being that he really is must've left you exhausted.
I can't possible expect you to remember things like..uhm..for example...that your kid is still a minor? You know, ridiculous things like, signing for him when he applies to a school...or even phoning the school after we've sent the authorities to check why your kid hasn't attended classes for three weeks. I couldn't possibly ask of you to put in an effort but I secretly hoped you would...because you're his parents.
So please, next time you want to make your presence known as a concerned and disappointed and possibly litigious parent, don't wait 3 months after school has started or two months after I've sent child services to your house. It makes you look irresponsible and like a class A jerk.
Maybe next time you can drag your ass over here to sign the according forms so when you try to blame other people for your failure as a parent, at least you'd have a leg to stand on. As it is now, you have nothing.

So screw you and the high horse you rode in on.

No love,

jerks, letters, kids, parents, work
