Well, that was Pride again.
Thursday afternoon I went over to Wim's place for dinner with him and Victoria, after which we headed to Westermarkt for the official opening party, with the Boy George Experience, which sounds a lot better than it actually was.
After that we took our business to the new April and, of course, Exit.
Friday we went over to Westermarkt again, this time for the Drag Queen Olympics, which included handbag tossing and a stiletto race. We brought our own beer (of course..) which ran out pretty fast. As the night proceeded, my bag got emptier and my intoxication increased.
Luckily I had some stuff to take away a bit of the drunken feeling (tip: don't take speed on a Dixi toilet. It's uncomfortable) and when the party at Westermarkt ended we all went to the street party in the Regulier, where we stayed until the wee hours of night.
Saturday was the day of the canal parade. There were eighty boats this year, so the time spent watching them was nice and long. My anti hangover chocolate worked wonders and by the time the boats had all passed, my physical and mental state was as good as back to normal again.

After a short stop at the supermarket (who had totally run out of white wine, rosé wine and beer - we were "lucky" enough to get our hands on two sixpacks of 2.5% lemon beer) we made our way to the street party in the Regulier yet again. After spending a couple of hours there, Wim, Françoise and me had a couple of beers on the side of the canal, at Herengracht, away from all the crowds for a little bit.
After this, I went over to Smokey's to meet up with my sort-of-sister Libby and her new boyfriend. Took them to Lellebel, where we spent a good portion of the night.
After visiting the wok restaurant for a well-deserved after-the-party-dinner, it was time to call it quits and head on home.
As for today, I couldn't gather the energy to make it to the closing party, but I'm sure people will manage without my company.
