(Dis)connected

I have a laptop! Granted, it's not totally new - four years old - but still! Finally I'm rid of using this stupid Mac machine and I have my *very own* computer for the first time ever.

Last Thursday was my dad's birthday and to celebrate the three of us (my sister, brother and me) went to his place for the weekend and we went out to dinner on Saturday night. We all had a really good time, went to a flea market on Sunday and then after dinner for some reason the topic of conversation changed to laptops and computers. I told my dad about wanting to buy a laptop sometime in the next few months to which he replied by saying he still had an old laptop that he wasn't using. Then he offered it to me! I was a bit surprised at first, but obviously said yes. He took it out of where he was keeping it, we tested it and everything worked.

I've dug up all the network settings, installed everything that's necessary to go online, but there's one small problem: when I insert my usb network adaptor Windows decides to reboot itself and keeps doing so until I remove it. Shite.
I'm taking it to work tomorrow. Lucky me for sharing an office with our two IT guys. I'll have them take a look at it before I try stuff and break it.

laptop, family, wtf
