[Fic] Hear my Heart, Chapter Three
“Since when Kazu?” Pi asked seriously. Kazuya kept quiet and stared on the ceiling.
“Kazu~” Pi nudged his brother and he looked at him. “Answer me.” Pi continued.
“Ever since the day you carried me to my room and cleaned my wounds.”
“But that was last year!”
“…I know.”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
“I thought that it would be too troublesome for you. You’re balancing your studies and your varsity practice… and I don’t want to ruin it.”
“Oh for the love of Pete. Kazu, varsity is nothing. Its just a sport and studies… its just numbers!”
“hmm…”
“Oh Kazu…” Pi hugged him tightly. “I’m so sorry…”
“…S-Sorry for w-what?”
“For leaving you like that…”
“…its okay nii-chan…”

Months passed and Kazuya’s life was back to normal. Well… not exactly. When their dad left them, Pi had to look for a part time job and quit their varsity.
“Ne, nii-chan, I need to go to a convention…”
“What for?” Pi yawned.
“For school.”
“Ma~ that means I need to find another job…”
“Well… if you’re going to find another job then I won’t go.”
“No, you need to. Its for school anyways, right?”
“Yeah…but its okay. I don’t want nii-chan to work that hard.”
“uh…okay then.” Pi sat at the kitchen table and wrote their expenses for the week.
“Ma~ it doubled…” Kazuya peaked on Pi’s shoulder and sat beside him.
“Why don’t you let me work nii-chan?”
“You’re too young. And you’re under aged.” Pi simply said.
“Well you’re under aged too. You’re just 16.” He stuck his tongue out.
“Well you’re just 13. Beat that. Plus, I’m turning 17 in 3 weeks”
“But that’s still illegal! Let me help too!”
“Next time.” Pi stood up and went to his room.
“I want to help nii-chan~” Kazuya followed and slept as well.

As soon as Pi finished his homework he went straight to the Italian Restaurant that he’s going to apply at. He fixed his shirt and his hair so that he would look presentable in front of the manger. He went inside the restaurant and asked some waiters where he’s interview is going to be held.
“Right this way~” a waiter asked him to wait at the some big room and gave him a cup of tea while he was waiting. Pi thanked the waiter and kept himself cool and relaxed while waiting. After a few minutes, the manager entered the room and sat in front of him.
“Konbanwa~” Pi stood up and bowed. The manger did the same and asked Pi to sit down again. He gave his folder to the older man and he looked at it intently. Reading everything that was written in the application form.
“You’re 19 and you want to work right away?”
“H-hai… I need to support my brother’s education because our father left us.” Of course he lied at the age part. But it is true that he needs to support his brother’s education and himself as well.
“Ah~ sou~ so this is your first job? ”
“Its my first full job. I only take part time jobs when I was 18…”
“Hmm… okay.” The manager stood up from his chair and smiled. “You start tomorrow. The uniform will be given to you tomorrow too.”
“Arigatou~!” Pi stood up and shook the managers hand in excitement. “I won’t let you down!” The manager smiled and he excused himself. As soon as he left, Pi left the restaurant as well and went straight to their apartment.
“Ne~!!! Kazu!!!!” Pi shouted as he entered the apartment making the younger boy run from the kitchen, scared.
“What happened?!” Kazuya panicked.
“I have a new job!!!!” Pi exclaimed in excitement making Kazuya sigh and calm down.
“I thought something happened…you scared me nii-chan!” He smiled and gave his older brother a hug. “Omedeto~!” he added. Pi hugged back and kissed Kazuya’s head.
“Ma~ did you cook something good for me?” Pi smiled and broke the hug.
“Of course~!” Kazuya pulled his brother to the kitchen and let him sit on the chair.
“Uwa~ it smells good! Its curry huh? My favorite!” Kazuya placed the food in front of Pi and gave him his spoon and a glass of water.
“Eat up” he smiled and sat on front of him.
“umai~!” Pi said and eats another spoon full. Kazuya laughed and watched his brother eat his dinner.

“I’m off! Go to sleep already after fixing the kitchen okay? Oh and don’t wait for me anymore.”
“Hai~ Do your best ne~?”
“I’ll sure do!” Pi went out of their apartment and rushed to the restaurant. He reached the place in no time and went to the locker room. He saw his uniform carefully pressed and properly laid at the bench with his nametag on top.
“Uwa~ sugoii…” He picked up his uniform and changed quickly.
“Yamashita!” the headwaiter called from the door.
“Hai! Coming!” Pi fixed his uniform and hair then went out of the room. When he went out, his eyes met a young man, exactly like him, a teenager but his aura seems so different from his.
“Yamashita, this is Akanishi-kun. He’s been here for 3 months already and I’m sure he can handle you `coz your age is close to his. He’ll be your boss for the mean time and he’ll show you the basics. Oh, its not only he who teaches. You also need to teach him some simplicity. He brags a lot…” The headwaiter said joking.
“Ha ha. Very funny…” Jin said with faked his laugh.
“So, I leave you two. I hope no one breaks anything this time, ne?” he patted Jin and Pi’s shoulders and went to his spot.
“Yamashita Tomohisa desu~ I’m pleased to meet you.” Pi bowed and so did Jin.
“Akanishi Jin.” He simply replied. “C’mon. I’ll show you how it works.” He added and went to one table. Pi followed him and watched intently. After a few rounds, Jin let him get the other orders and he did it properly for a starter.
“You’re good.” Jin complimented him and Pi smiled and said, “Well I learned from the expert.” Jin chuckled and said, “It’s your first time here and yet you play around. How clever.” Jin walked to the kitchen and Pi followed.
“Well once in awhile you can play around ne?” Pi said as he got the orders and gave it to the costumers. His shift ended fast than he expected and he was exhausted than he ever imagined. Pi sat at the bench inside the locker room and sighed.
“Yamashita…good job tonight.” Jin sat down beside him.
“Th-thanks…” He replied back. Silence filled the locker room until Jin spoke. “So… Why are you working again?”
“I’m working for Kazuya.”
“You’re girlfriend?” Jin chuckled.
“Eh? N---” he was cut of by Jin and he continued “ Don’t hide it anymore Yamashita. Its okay to work for your girlfriend.”
“Uh… sure. ” Pi stayed quiet and it made Jin awkward.
“Oye.” Jin nudged Pi and he looked at the older man.
“What?”
“You don’t have to act like I’m really old for Pete’s sake. I’m just 20… and you’re just 19 right? So I’m older by a year. It’s not that far.”
“Uh… yeah…I’m just doing it because you’ve worked here for 3 months already and I just started. You’re my mentor.” Pi smiled.
“Oh. Okay.” Jin stood up “You better change, its getting late. I’ll go change too.” Jin walked to the washroom and left Pi alone.
“I guess there’s no harm if I change here.” He removed his shirt and placed his dirty clothes at his bag and got his new shirt and wore it. He immediately packed his stuff and went out of the locker room.
“Good job tonight Yamashita.” Their boss smiled and Pi bowed at him. “I’ll be leaving now.” He continued and their boss nodded. Pi went out of the restaurant and stopped when he saw Jin.
“Young master, your father’s been looking for you.” His butler opened the limo for him.
“I don’t need a ride. I have feet, I can walk.” He said to his butler and walked away.
“Young master! It’s dangerous for you walking alone!” his butler followed him and Jin ran as fast as he could.
“He-he’s rich?” Pi looked at the scene with a shocked expression. “If he’s rich why is he working?” Pi questioned himself and started to walk home.
