The dusty box fell from her shelf, catching the attention of the two people present at the bedroom. The visible dust particles danced in the air and gently floated. "Woah! You should try cleaning your things next time, or else you'll be living with dust." He tried to crack a joke, but silence fell upon them. She crouched to tidy the mess up, when her eyes fell upon a small piece of scrap paper. He took a glance at the confused girl, and back to the DS in his chubby hamburger fingers.
On the paper was written 3 words.
I like you.
It was a paper she made a bet with. Whether or not he would read it. But why did it appear once again?
"A time capsule?" He asked, eyes still glued to the boss monster. She stared at the box, when memories played through her mind. "Not exactly, but it does bring back memories." A chuckle escaped her lips. "Hmmm~"
A chill ran down her spine. Nothing is alright if he hummed like that, and it always resulted to sexual harassment. She had to retreat, fast.
Just then, she felt a presence behind her, sitting down. His hands reached out for the paper while he pushed her body down for its back to lie on his chest.
"Ah-!"
As soon as his eyes caught a glimpse of the message, his stare became heartless. "Let me guess, you tried to give this to your beloved Jun?" He asked with his voice suddenly became cold. "N-nino.. This.. I-is.." She took a deep gulp before trying to continue but was stopped when she felt the body behind her shivered.
All of a sudden, a high-pitched voice rumbled. It was as if his voice cracked once again. "Why is it always JUN?! Aren't you in love with ME?!" His body shook vigorously due to his anger. But deep inside his heart, he felt like he could burst any moment.
Moments later, he realized his actions and slowly retreated. "S..sorry.." He whispered, looking away. There was a moment of silence, then slowly, he spoke. He raised his palm and covered his face. "When I think of the fact that there are many other wolves outside waiting to take you from me, It drives me insane...." He whispered softly.
The girl was surprised by the sudden outburst of the man, but she knew it was actually her fault.
"Nino." She said firmly, pulling his palm out of his face. He resisted for a bit but he finally let his hand out. His eyes widened when he was welcomed with a kiss, a sweet kiss that expressed a thousand words of her heart. Slowly and softly, their lips parted. "It's my turn to tell my feelings." She whispered softly. She took a deep gulp and raised her head to look at the man.
"When you were with me, my world felt like its colours returned. When you smiled, my heart skipped a beat. When you were angry, I was sad. When you were teasing me, I hated you. When you told me you loved me, I felt like I could die from a heart attack. When your lips touched me, I felt my heart burning. These feelings I get are all because of one thing..."
When her long explanation came to a small halt, she took a deep breath and with flushed, ripe cheeks, she smiled like an angel.
"I.. Love you."
He was dumbfounded. His lips unintentionally parted and created a gap between, his eyes were huge and popped out while he blinked blankly into the air like an idiot would. She stared at him until he gained his self back.
What his first reaction was a huge laugh, more of choking actually. It was followed by a sudden hug from the man, which made her dumbfounded in return. "W-what now?!" She shouted in surprise. He released and cupped her face. Everything felt like a rush.
"You have completely no idea as to how happy I am!!"
His cheerful grin and his sparkling eyes made him look an adorable, energetic puppy. As a human, with his child-like features he looked like a childish kid. "I'm so happy you finally said it!!!" He grinned, hugging her tighter than ever. Squished, and crushed, she complained to the ecstatic man. "Said what?" She asked as soon as she regained composure.
"Said 'I love you' of course!"
As soon as those words were processed into her mind, which took quite a while, her face poofed into a ripe tomato. "D-don't remind me!!" She pouted.
Just like an arrow of love that struck his heart, her cute expression had attacked and conquered his heart and mind. Gradually, his face grew bright pink. "Shoot.. I seriously want to kiss you.." He declared, making the pouting lady to turn sharply and stare at him with her flushed cheeks.
Without any words to exchange, their gap lessened. His hands brushed the soft skin on her arm, breathing in the same air together while their lips inches apart. The suspense was killing them, and it all disappeared when their lips touched. It started off as a simple kiss and was deepened by Nino.
It was expected for Maika to immediately faint after such a long, intense kiss. Although she didn't want to say it, he was actually an awesome kisser, so much that she could faint from his kiss.
As soon as their lips parted softly, her head fell to his chest, asking for support. A loud giggle escaped his mouth. "You always amuse me by fainting from a kiss!" He ruffled her hair like a proud fathe-.. boyfriend. She buried her head deeper into his chest, trying to hide her blushing face.
"..B-But it's because.. you're a g-good.. k-k-kisser..."
Silence came, an akward silence. She pushed him aside and grinned like nothing happened. "Well, let's sleep now!" A huge smile formed on her face. When she raised her head from his chest, she was surprised to find him blush with an eye-catching crimson red.
All of a sudden, he swooped her body up into his arms. He walked a few steps to the king sized bed and softly landed her there. "If you say more cute things like that.. I'll seriously attack you!" He roared with his face still red. He rolled to his side of the bed and smiled at her.
"But... Am I really a good kisser..?" Without any words, she nodded quietly and her face instantly turned bright pink. "Hmm~~" He flashed a grin.
"Ah, do you know what day is 3 weeks from now?"
"16 June..right?"
"That's my birthday, you know!"
Silence came, another akward silence. "Eh..?" She mumbled to herself. "Yeah, and I want it to be very special! Do you have some place in mind, Mai?"
"We could try my beach house.."
"Is that okay with you?"
"Yeah, and I have the key with me. We could go tomorrow."
A chuckle escaped his mouth. Gently, he brushed her fringe away and kissed her forehead. "Goodnight, Mai."
A reply was given, "Goodnight..K-kazu.."
