so who's seen star wars episode 3? WHAT?? you haven't? me either. if you did, hopefully you didn't skip a day of work or put off something ACTUALLY important for it.
i am a comic book geek at heart, but i don't break my neck to suit up in my spandex suits to go see spider-man or x-men. heck, sin city came out a while ago and i still haven't seen it. i'm all for people being excited about things pop culture wise, but their really needs to be a line there somewhere. if you want to dress up as your favorite character, by all means knock yourself out (within reason--i don't want to encourage 950 lb women to go as slave leia or 950 lb men to be shirtless kirk--this means you too william shatner!) but when you get to the point that a movie or event makes you immediately figure out what to tell the boss to get the day off----you need to step back from the lightsaber and rethink your life. keep in mind that the movie won't only be playing for 1 day with no plan to release it on dvd. there will be extra showings thanks to our friends at the movie theaters! they'll wait for you to come in when you have time off, pay $40 for the ticket, and another $6.5 million for snacks. george lucas has sooo much money he'll never have enough time to get to accounting for your money he missed out on ( even though he cashed in a cool $150 million for the opening--not bad i guess)
not don't get me wrong here, i will see star wars episode 3. but i don't feel like my life is incomplete until i see the jedi council eat it at anakin's hands.
so FORTHE LOVE OF BENJI please don't treat me like i'm dressed like hitler at a bar mitzvah when you hear i didn't see star wars yet.
the more you know..........(cue weird nbc music here)
