Sometimes, it’s alright to swear. Especially in front of friends, who don’t care and will let you cuss and swear until your face turns blue. Sometimes, it’s okay to cry because you’re frustrated, especially in front of friends who will comfort you and cry back until they kick your ass because, really, you’re better than this and you can pick yourself up and keep going. They believe you can.
Sometimes, it’s okay to wish a teacher dead (I know I do) because they didn’t tell you until it was too late what you were doing wrong. And it’s okay to have moments of self-doubt, because you didn’t ask if what you were doing was wrong or not. Sometimes, it’s okay to really, really, want to drive that pencil through your eye (as long as you don’t) because, well, it might be easier than repeating what you’ve spent months working on.
But don’t forget.
There are people around you willing to help, to hold your hand and lift you off the ground and give you ideas and hit you upside the head when you’re being stupid. There are people who will laugh with you, cry with you, give you a pat on the shoulder and make you endless cups of coffee to fuel your Chemistry-coursework-induced dementia. There are people who will even write little notes with stupid messages, just to see you smile or laugh and know, hey, you’re okay, really.
And in the end;
Sometimes it’s okay to blow up the Chemistry lab and walk away.
Really.
