Look, I know we've been over this, but
recent talk leads me to re-emphasize the importance of a "purist" agenda here at NvP.
By "purist," I mean it should just be NINJAS and PIRATES... if we start attributing other things (like vikings or jedis) to the realm of either ninjatry or piratedom, we can ultimately get trapped in a slippery slope and things could just spiral out of control.
For example, if we say that a Viking is a Pirate because vikings have boats and raid stuff, Why don't we make privateers pirates as well? Privateers are just like pirates, except that they work with the sanction of a sovereign nation.
Well, I mean, that's almost just like the navy. I mean, millitary attacks are a lot like raiding, right? I mean privateers are essentially a "volunteer navy."
Well, there isn't much difference between the navy and the army right? One is for the water, and the other is for the land, but they are essentially the same thing - millitary branches composed of soldiers, right?
well, secret agents are kind of like soldiers right? I mean, they are essentially soldiers who operate in secret and do missions for infiltration and stuff, right?
Well, that's not to far from a ninja....... is it?
so.... we can six-degree everything until... ninjas are pirates?
See! That's why we can't be bringing in all this talk of Vikings and monkeys and robots and clowns and mimes and cowboys and indians and cannibals and electricians and halfling thieves and half-orc barbarians and fourth-level gnomish fighter/mages.
