...seems everytime I ask a question a couple dozen people bonk me on the head with scripture. I've got a very basic question here and I'd just like to have an answer from you
( Read more... )
i guess its because, well, (and i know how you said you dont like this answer) it is not written in the Bible. [[though i suppose thats not too much backing when the word trinity isnt mentioned once in the Bible]]
there's a lot of aggressive Christians out there who dont like to deviate one bit from what they believe is the concrete true meaning and message of the Bible. but i believe that the Bible is dynamic and alive, and that the message is slightly different for everyone just as everyone of us are different.
i also dont think that a basic bit of normalcy in his existence isnt such a bad idea. the actual thought that he came down into "normalcy" (however normal can be defined) makes his sacrifice and existence on earth that much greater. [[God coming down to be a human, experiencing hunger, physical pain, helplessness, etc.]]
and perhaps he might have had a wife. but that would mean that he is biased. when you create your own family (meaning your spouse and children) naturally you would consider them better than everyone else. but Jesus loves all of us equally and wouldnt have loved one woman more than other women, or one (or few) children more than other children. [that sounds sort of weird, but i think you get what i'm trying to say]
Jesus' only purpose on earth was to come and die, not to live a completely "normal" life and raise a family. getting married and having children wasn't exactly number one on his to-do list, nor do i think it was there at all.
He came to do the best for all people, not to have fun or be happy and meet a nice young lady and give His Father his life-long wish to have grandchildren in His old age.
so even the idea that Jesus would even have a girlfriend would imply a separate and biased love for one specific person, which he never would have done. His TRUE passion was to live for God and die for us. as the band AVALON, put it, "To a world that was lost he gave all he could give To show us the reason to live"
Jesus loves all of us equally and wouldnt have loved one woman more than other women
while not the first to run this by me, a valid point I'm sure, one would think he loved his mother more than any other woman and if that's the case it leaves room for the possibility that he may've sought similar in a bride. Although, you don't necessarily have to love your wife more than any other women...just choose to put her in a different class than the rest.
actually, i dont think Jesus would have loved his mother more than other women. i think he would have loved all the same, but since His love is abundant, it isnt a bad thing.
"Although, you don't necessarily have to love your wife more than any other women...just choose to put her in a different class than the rest."
even so, i dont believe Jesus would have tried to seek for a wife. it wasnt a part of his agenda or any goal.
If he did have one, which I like to think he did, and no one can confirm the fact of whether or not they existed...then I may very well have met them (descendents) and not realized it.

well that's my two (or 25) cents for the day.
good night!
