A few days ago Maria...

was asking me cheerleading questions from back in the day.  She was so cute.  Showed me a bunch of cheers she knows (which made flashbacks of a ton of cheers I can teach her) then asked if i can "do this".  Then she twisted her leg up and around holding her foot flat to her hip.

I showed her but failed her test.  I guess I wasn't holding my foot as close to my hip as she thought I should.  I didn't want to tell her I've never seen a cheerleader strike this pose but instead told her I'd try it with my other foot.  (I was using my 'broken' foot and tend to baby it.  It didn't heal right but that's another story)

After I showed her I could do the crazy pose she started asking more questions.  I ended up asking her if she could do the splits.  She seems very flexable.  "No" she says.  I tell her she just needs to stretch everyday and if she does that after sometime she would probably be able to do it.

"Well can you do it?"  She says in a tone that tells me she doesn't believe I can.  I tell her I can do both American and Chinese Splits.  She, of course, doesn't believe me and asks that I do it.   I tell her I'll do it tomorrow and bid her good-night.

Next morning as SOON as she wakes up she walks to me and asked me to do it!
I'm thinking it's freaking 6 am and freezing, my old joints are going to kill me but I did tell her "tomorrow"

Down I go wearing jeans and all staight down into American splits.   Her eyes pop out just like they did when she opended the "Hanna Montana" necklace.  She then ran down the hall and I hear her telling Violet that I really CAN do the splits.

I knew she didn't believe me.   I hear her tell Violet to "come see" telling me that I'm going to have to do it again.

She wants to see the difference between American splits and Chinese splits.  (Chinese splits you have your feet both point straight up and your body is staight.  American splits your turned to the left or right with one foot pointed the direction your facing and the other flat against the floor.  Chinese splits are harder.  I was the only cheerleader who could do Chinese splits and also the only one who could go left or right on American.  One year I coached for a high school cheerleading team and even then I was the only who could do them....why 'cause I'm a ROCK STAR but...again....another story)

I don't like to show off that I can do the splits, but okay for family....I GUESS I can do it.

Down again I go into Chinese splits.  Violet and Maria both freaking out.  I hold the post and  tell Maria she should be ashamed she didn't believe me.
"Girl I was the Captain for a reason!  I was the best cheerleader EVER!"  I wanted to laugh at her expression.  She looked as if she was thinking I really was the best cheerleader.

As SOON as they where out the door walking down the stairs....
I'm doubled over in PAIN!!!
Awwww I'm soooooooo old!  *giggle*

friends, b&m, family
