Summer
Summer is coming, Jeff is coming, Antball will soon be leaving for the summer. Antball leaving will be the WORSE part of the summer!!
Jeff and his girlfriend Marie broke up soon after they got back to New York. He's been saying for years now that he's been planning on moving here. Jeff would say he was moving out once Marie finished college, Jamie figured if they broke up before that Jeff would end up moving here.
Jamie asked if I was okay with Jeff sleeping on the couch for a few weeks (so I'm betting he's here until Anthony comes back from summer break) which was fine with me. The only ground rules are we don't want him bringing any girls here or friends he meets. Only people we know, if he's like Jamie he'll be making friends in no time...Jamie used to pick them up like they were stray dogs!! Also if Anthony comes to visit the room is his and Jeff's kicked out to the couch.
Then Jamie gets into how he doesn't want me getting jealous if he's hanging out with his brother.
"Did I when he was here?"
"No."
"Did I the first time he came?"
"No?"
"Our trip to New York?"
"No."
I reminded him of how our summers tend to work out. Him starting work at 3 am to beat BLAZING heat, me at home sleeping the hot day away in the A/C having gone to bed 5 hours later then I do during the school year. He gets home extra early most days, I'm sleeping because I don't have to go to sleep right away.
"I don't even cook dinner for you during the summer because I'm sleeping." He doesn't really like this part of our summers but I don't care...I cook during the weekend but as for the rest of the week.....on on summer break there's food in the kitchen, knock yourself out.
He and his brother will have plenty of time to catch up while I'm snoozing.
He talks about his brother and you can see how much he misses and loves him in his eyes. I see this as clearly as I see when he's looking at me like I'm the most beautiful woman on the planet. When they are together they both look so happy. I'm happy that Jeff will be near because I know how happy this will make Jamie. Yes I know he'll be spending time with him but that's what brothers do. Jamie moved to Arizona 6 years ago and in that time has only seen his brother for a total of 3 weeks. Our place is usually the hang out place anyway and will probably not change. Once he moves out, I'm sure Jeff will be here every weekend watching football and now our poker table is going to be getting more use!
