Monday morning I walked with Anthony and Josh a bit on their way to school. I then went towards the 7-11 and see this dog almost get hit by a car. Happy dog doesn't even notice, happy dog catches some curious smell turns around in the road and almost gets hit again this time almost causing an accident. Happy dog doesn't notice.

Once I got my hot coco from 7-11 I leave the store and there the dog is wandering the busy parking lot. I look around to see if there is anyone across the street who seems to be looking for their dog. If this dog got away from it's owner there is no way it got far. There is no one looking for him.....everyone is LOOKING at him that's for sure but not looking for him.

It is clear this is an old dog. He's just sitting there next to the air pumps and I can't help to think this dog reminds me of Sugar.

Sugar used to belong to the owners of a bar in Ajo. Sugar's owners died and since my Dad was good friends with them we ended up with her. Being a bar dog in a small town she was as famous as a bar dog in a small town could be. One year before she came to us they even ran a "Happy Birthday Sugar" add with her photo in it in "0The Copper News". At least 5 times when I was walking her people stopped in their cars to ask, "Is that Sugar?"

I would say yes, they come out and say hello to Sugar then ask me if I wouldn't mind "waiting here for a few minutes?"

They would drive to Texco to buy Sugar some jekey drive back and feed it to a most happy dog. Sugar would also get free jerkey each time my dad drove up to the drive thru liquor store for sodas.

This dog looks like Sugar! *WALK Away MELANIE walk away now!*
Oh hey he's got a tag. I watch what the lady he is walking up to in order to see what happens. She kinda looks at him (you cannot help but look at this dog) but she doesn't pet him.

"Come here dog!" I sighed. He's got a tag on let's see if we can find his owner.

Happy dog waddles walks over. Good dog, happy dog, good dog sits down nice so nice lady who is scratching ears can read tag:

Peedee Rodriguez
480-274-****
Mesa, AZ 85202

I think "Really?? Peedee??"

The guys in my unit used to call me that since my last name was Peed. I always thought of it spelled "Peedie" but still....Peedee....*Oh no see I told you to walk away!*

Well he's got a phone number and we live in the same zip code.
"Let's go dog." *sigh*

He walks with me to back to the apartment. I have to call out to him if he goes to far or doesn't see I'm turning a but other then that he follows my orders very well.

Before I finish thinking "I'm not going to carry this do..."
up the stairs goes the dog, he looks at me. "Go in." and Good dog goes in, Happy dog.

**Pumbaa's gonna be pissed!**

Jamie is laying on the bed awake but still laying dog. He might have fallen back to sleep but told him I let a dog in and that woke him right up.

"What?"
"Yeah I let this dog in. He almost got hit by two different cars, don't worry he's got a phone number on his tag I just didn't have the phone."

I find the phone and call the number. It wasn't a state tag, just one of those name tags you can make in booths in Wal-mart so they wouldn't be able to find the owner if this number doesn't work.
"Hola?"
**CRAP!!** "Hello, I found this dog with this numb..."
I don't know what he was saying other then he cannot speak english. Then he hangs up on me as I'm trying to explain it again.

This guy thinks he can hang up on me! That's okay my most awesome husband speak-a-da spanish! **Hangs head in shame, yes I should have learned it growning up**

Jamie gets on the phone and the guy. As Jamie was talking to the guy he is scratching the dog's ears. AWWWW Good Dog is soooooo feeling good right now! No they haven't lost a dog, this is his phone number he's only had it for 2 weeks.

**OH NO I LET THE DOG IN ALREADY**

I go and pick up the cat food, this dog does not need to eat just yet but hey good dog here is some water......

An hour later I took the dog for a walk back where I found him. Maybe he will lead me back to his home. I see a guy walking a dog, maybe he has seen someone walking this dog before.....if he has ever seen this dog before I'd be surpised if it was WALKING but maybe.

No luck.

We walk back home and Jamie is still in bed playing his PSP. The dog goes to sleep in the living room, another hour or so goes by.

"Jamie what are we going to do about this dog?"
"Well....
*I see the look in his eye, slight smile on his face that matches but the eyes...oh the eyes said it....*Jamie Good Man, Loves Good dumb Dogs, if Jamie could wag his tail Good Jamie would be wagging away*
"......as long as he's not crying and trying to get out he can stay."
"Crying? He made himself at home and is snoring in living room as we speak....hahaha...I hope he farts and wakes up your brother...BaHAHAHA!"
Jamie laughed at that and agreed it would be funny, I thought about the story I heard about a guy who locked himself in a barn with a bunch of cows and died because the cows farted all night.

**This will get worse when Antball comes home.....you gotta find the owner before then but how?**

I walked the dog almost a block before the dog started to look tired and we came home.

Anthony comes home and the dog is most happy to see Anthony. The dog even jumped up.

*WOW that dog can jump!*

That was Monday.....
guess who is still here!?
*sigh*
