(no subject)
Saturday Jamie and I went to Bookman's, it's a large used bookstore. I love it. This week it's "Banned Book" week! Once a week they have a bunch of chess sets out for people to play. I always want to do that, reminds me of all the movies of people playing chess in New York CIty. I don't because I'd just get my ass kicked, suppose I could practice with Jamie since it's been awhile. My problem is I'm not so good at putting someone in checkmate. Either way the fact I can play chess makes my "Hot" factor go out about 10%
Back to the story, I love Bookmans, always something going on.
I was trying to decide Steven King's "Desperation" or one of the "Odd Thomas" books by Dean Koontz. I just couldn't figure out if the book I was holding was the second book, I've only read the first one and don't want to read them out of order. This guy walks up and eyes "Desperation" and says, "That book is so good. That is a really good book! That book is freaking AWESOME."
I laughed and thanked him for helping me decide. He was right, the book is freaking awesome.
Jamie and I finish picking out some books and start heading to cashiers. They announce over the speakers,
"Hellooo Bookman's customers, in celeberation of 80ies day if you come up to our cashiers and sing your favoriate 80ies song you will get 10% off your purchase!"
"Ohhh are you going to sing?" I ask Jamie.
"What?! NO!"
"10% off man!"
"No!"
"I'll do it! Yeah I'm going to do it!"
Jamie starts walking away embarassed trying to look like he's not ready to pay just yet as I'm getting into line. I told him later that was messed up he walked away like he didn't know me after all the stuff he's done in public with me standing there right next to him.
Since there was only 1 couple in line ahead of us and they just made the announcment I could see the cashiers where teasing the couple.
"Awww too embarassed to sing!" She looked at me and said "I can help you over here."
I start walking dancing up snapping my fingers and start singing
"Wake me up before you GO GO..."
I'm so awesome like that!
