So, not much art has been happening since school let out. I’m trying to change that, but I still haven’t cleaned out my studio down in the cellar. I have three years of life drawings to sift through. Talk about a pain. Y’know what else is a pain? My “B” button. You’ve really gotta hammer it into the keyboard now a days. I didn’t even know I used the letter b that often. But art, yeah. I did a few sketches in the beginning of May, but it’s kinda died off lately. This sketch is something I might incorporate into my senior thesis. I’ve been thinking about it, and I really want to do something kind of based on Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. This is “Alice”. I don’t know if comic or picture book is the best way to go… we’ll see. I’d have to write the story first and everything… format would go along in that process. Still doesn’t change the fact that I need to draw more.
Anyway, Sam graduated yesterday. It was a nice graduation. Short and sweet. The commencement speaker kept it brief, which is what commencement speakers should do. I’ve been spending most of my time re-painting the main bathroom (I guess that counts as art?). That and working. I’m trying to save up enough money to not have to worry about rent next year. I think maybe I can do it? At least enough for the first semester. Also, My summer classes start tomorrow. Yay?
But this summer is going to be pretty awesome, even if I don’t have that much time off. Whatever, I’m gonna make the best of it. Sam got me a sick basket for the back of my bike. It’s gonna make trips to PI that much easier. He also got me bike tire inflator sealer, so if a tire pops again, this time we’ll be prepared. So I’m planning a lot of bike trips in my mind for the future. Z and I biked Maudslay the other week. It’s much smaller a park when you’re on a bike. I need to find some good routes to explore around the county. I do need to pick up a better helmet though. Mine is worthless.
My fish, Phineas J. Finnegan, looks like he has cancer. If fish get cancer. He has two white tumor-looking growths on his face. Poor guy. He’s a heffa too. HUGE. He kinda looks like the godfather with his fishy scowl and puffed out gills. He will be missed when the golden toilet calls his name. SteveZ is just waiting so he can move into Finny’s sick tank. With the air bubbles and the castle. He’s totally jealous.
So that’s the good word. Now I have to get ready for work.
