I went on vacation! More specifically, to Florida. Even more specifically, to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, Cocoa Beach and the Kennedy Space Center, and SeaWorld.
EVEN MORE SPECIFICALLY: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. ^___^ I got a wand, drank regular and frozen Butterbeer, bought a Chocolate Frog, and went on a few rides. But holy shit, the park is gorgeous. THAT FUCKING CASTLE. *A*
Speaking of which, now that the Magical Quill Challenge is over, I've just gotta wait for my Welcome email from Pottermore so I can get in early. >.< Waiting is suffering.
Also, now that I have appropriate internet, I can chat about this week in anime and manga (and have a from-left-field TV program)! YAY:
- No.6: FFFFFF SION WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU GLORIOUS BOY. I watched those last two minutes, like, ten times. Just, HOLY SHIT Sion, way to be borderline yandere. I love how off-kilter Nezumi gets because of Sion, and he doesn't even realize how bad he is until it's almost "too late", in a sense. This week's episode looks to be more Safu/plot-centric...but we are drawing ever closer to the "goodnight" kiss. I will be more than a little upset if that particular scene isn't adapted. This is one of the reasons waiting for the week to go by is physically painful.
- Mawaru PenguinDrum: OH HEY THERE SOULGEM. I kind of lol'd when the hat turned out to work the same way as the soulgems in Madoka. But the Juri lookalike creeps me out more than any of the characters so far...of course, I keep waiting for everyone to do a complete 180 in terms of character (especially AkiraIshidaTeacher), but I seriously want to be taken off guard. You can do it, Ikuhara!
- Tiger & Bunny: FUCK YOU MAVERICK. God damn. I mean, I knew that Barnaby was going to get the emotional shit kicked out of him based on interviews...but JEEZE GUYS. Kotetsu and Maverick where his two pillars of support...now he thinks Kotetsu has abandoned him, and Maverick turned out to be the douchiest of douches.
- Ao no Exorcist: Well, I'm certainly glad the anime kept in the "Rin-accidentally-sets-Yukio-and-Shura's-clothes-on-fire training session". But Amaimon dying? And Yukio having a weird mark on his arm? Now that's totally anime-original content I was NOT expecting. I don't know what to feel about Amaimon yet...but I am incredibly interested in this subplot thing they're doing for Yukio. I keep checking the usual sites for the English scanlation of 27...but it seems like I've still got a wait ahead of me.
- Nurarihyon no Mago: TONO YAY. For a "training arc", I rather liked Tono. So I'm all YAY about seeing it animated. Of course, I loved just about everything about the Kyoto arc. In fact, it was my favorite. I say "was" because HOLY SHIT 100 TALES SUDDENLY GOT AWESOME. The Internal Reveal is in full swing now with confirmation that Kiyotsugu does now know about Rikuo. All I need now is for them to meet face to face. HNNNNNNGGGG. Also, that question Kana asked about what she should call Rikuo really reminded me of D.N.Angel, which is EVEN BETTER.
- Uta no Prince-Sama Maji Love 1000%: I still can't believe I picked this up, but it's so damn entertaining. I love all six guys. The girl, though...her eyes are like rape incarnate. Anywho, this last episode...oh GOD, this last episode. Quite an interesting case of DID, and THAT INSERT SONG. Because I marathoned the first, like, 4 episodes, I'm still a bit fuzzy on the guys' names. I gotta fix that.
- Blood-C: SUDDENLY MOVIE REFERENCES. That probably single handedly saved this series for me. I LOVED Blood: The Last Vampire, so seeing it referenced as Saya's memories (amnesia?) was wonderful...eh, probably not enough for a tag. Not yet, anyway.
- Natsume Yuujinchou: MATOBA. What a douche. Holy crap. But I do love how things are getting totally serious. I also loved seeing Natori again; he's so damn amusing. I already loved this series to bits, but I gotta see how this arc ends. Also, I keep seeing mentions of a "bondage scene", so I'm all WAT.
- True Blood: Yes, I actually watch this. The last episode was kinda meh. Amnesia!Erik kinda creeps me out still, and I love seeing the dynamic between Bill and Jess (even though it was heart wrenching this episode). BUT THE END. Fucking...the audience is left to assume Jason's been shot (I have no idea how he became a favorite of mine, alongside Lafayette), and Jess didn't have enough silver on her to keep her down when Antonia started reciting that spell, so she's shown walking out into the sun. Speaking of Antonia, TARA CAN DIE.
Finally, I only just now realize I haven't mentioned House of Leaves. Which is hands down one of the creepiest books I have ever read. I'm only about halfway through, but DAMN. And the crazy formatting doesn't help things...well, neither does reading it before going to bed, but eh. As simply as I can put it...
1) It's a commentary by Johnny Truant
2) about a book written by a man named Zampano
3) about a documentary-styled movie (called The Navidson Record)
4) that chronicles the tales of the Navidson family's struggle with their house. A house that is too big on the inside and has a strange labyrinth.
You get all that? I'll probably do a post on it when I've finished...but damn. That book uses formatting in the best way possible.
...but now I've gotta study for a Pharm Tech Exam. I taking it either Monday or Wednesday...I'm hoping the latter, because it gives me two extra days. @_@
