Something happened two days ago, and this something got me "seriously" back into D.N.Angel. I'm aware that this "something" is just Yukiru Mania coming in the mail, and then sharing that with fellow fans. Of course, when I say "seriously"...it's not like I was ever NOT into it...
Just...I didn't know it was possible to love and hate a person so much simultaneously. It was kind of okay before, when I could read her other series while D.N.Angel was on break, and I always knew that they'd be good...but then that feeling of "FUCK YOU" would finally settle in, because I knew that there was a very real chance that the series would never be finished within a reasonable amount of time...or at all, in the case of Candidate for Goddess. That one hurts especially, because it stopped right as it was setting up for some crazy reveals and after there was a major change in character roles...
Well, fuck. That sounds familiar. The way D.N.Angel ended before this current break is similar. Of course, I'm under the impression Candidate was partially cancelled because it wasn't too popular...whereas D.N.Angel is one of the more popular series in Asuka, if I understand it correctly. So I'm still holding on. *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
...I'm wordy. MY POINT is thus: Dammit, Sugisaki, you have a ton of fans for the series you've already created, so either stick to them, or when you DO go on break, go back to the ones you're already far into. Don't just go and start another series, like you did with Ascribe to Heaven! I won't deny my bias; the chapters aren't available anywhere in English, and the MC is a girl. I tend to not like girl MCs.
I also realize I haven't talked much about this season's anime. I do like quite a few shows from this season. [C] was a show I was lukewarm with at the beginning, but my interest increased greatly these past few weeks and I'm nervous for the finale next week. Ao no Exorcist is ten kinds of YAY, especially now that I've got my sister reading the manga. If I'm super lucky, I can get her started on the anime. I can't wait to see Kuro in next week's episode. <3 The food filler...was a little strange, I think. Not bad...just...I don't really know. But the show that's surprised me most this season is, without a doubt, Tiger & Bunny. I was really hesitant when I first picked it up, and sort of begrudgingly watched it to make sure I wouldn't drop it too early...and by the end of episode 4 I knew I had found a new favorite. The characters are just so real, and the relationship between Kotetsu and Barnaby is...so dynamic. It's wonderful. These last few episodes have caused many mini heart attacks, for various reasons. As for the episode that aired today had me all over the place. It's amazing that, in the kind of argument Kotetsu and Barnaby had, you can manage to feel for and understand both parties; that rarely happens in media, IMO. Kotetsu was justified in his worry, but he also went back on his word and "confirmed" that he didn't really fully trust Barnaby like he said he did. Barnaby is right to feel anger towards Kotetsu, but he also practically ignored his apology and didn't give him much of a chance to explain. It's actually like a real-life argument! Arguments in real life are never as clear-cut as those in media seem to be. I really wanna know how Barnaby will do in the fight against Jake. The preview for next week has a scene of Barnaby crying, for goodness sake...next week can't come quick enough.
I've also gotten on the livestream thing. I watch AoEx early Sunday morning (like, 4am EST early; I go to bed and set an alarm), The World God Only Knows on Mondays (this is recent; I do it to waste time between anatomy lecture and lab), and T&B on Saturdays, sometimes followed by Dog Days...which looked like it couldn't have gotten REALLY epic, but never quite got there completely.
There are a lot of other small things I'm excited for. Durarara is airing on Adult Swim...next week, I believe. I'll certainly be watching; hell, I wound up getting the first English boxset (I seriously need the second...). Also, there's been news of a live action Ace Attorney movie. I don't quite know yet how to react to that news--it's like they've done everything except an anime--but I'm holding out hope that it'll turn out fantastic.
To move away from fandom, this anatomy class...dkjlafjdkalh. Well, I did fine on all my tests so far--high As on all three. There's another lecture exam on Monday, and a lab practical on Wednesday. I'm more worried about Wednesday...I need to be able to name 61 muscles, and know some of the origins and insertions. I'm fine on the tissues. I can tell you the difference between Simple Squamous Epithelial Tissue and Adipose Tissue with just a glance. But the muscles? I wish I knew Latin. ;_; The skeletal system was way easier...
I'm also starting to go to the gym. I went for the first time on Thursday and met a trainer--I got two free sessions with one as part of my membership. I was pleasantly surprised by his breaking the stereotype I had in mind, as he started talking muscle-science. But I suppose that's the kind of stuff he'd need to know if he's a licensed trainer. I did some cross-training for about 20 minutes...and my goodness. I could tell my leg muscles were incredibly weak; in fact, the front of my thighs still hurt. It's especially bad when I try to tense them for movement: going up and down stairs, sitting and standing. Afterwards, I did cardio for 10 minutes. What he told me to do was set the speed on the treadmill to 3.0 for 1min, then 5.0, then 3.0, etc., each for 1min. At each minutes, increase the incline. It's freaking hard. I went again today with my sister, and did a little bit of cross training, just to show her what I did, and then did mostly cardio in the ~*Cardio Theater*~, which is pretty nifty.
Finally, I got bored with the old layout. I wish I was good with HTML/CSS (and had some aesthetic sense) so I could design my own. I wanted darker colors, and I had been thinking about a night-time view when I saw this one, so I went with it.
