So, I decided to to spend my entire day loading the last 2 seasons of Battlestar Galactica onto my PC, and then CUTTING JUST ABOUT EVERY INTERESTING SCENE IN ALL 4 SEASONS to save to disc separate from the full episodes. Needless to say, this took me my entire day off. I'm waiting for the final conversions to finish to get all the clips into nice little .avi files I can bend to my will in Windows Movie Maker, but apart from about 20 seconds I threw together from the mini clips I'd converted weeks ago, I actually have no fanvid to show for myself. After... about 9 hours.
I've been reminding myself that all of today's work is stuff I will never have to do again. The DVDs are all ripped, the scenes are all clipped roughly, and the conversion will finish today. And the next part goes fairly quickly once I find the clips I wanted to use for this video. But OMG, people! I think I clipped 100 scenes, and they all have to be named so they make any sense to me later. Why did I want to get into vidding, again? Oh, that's right. Because I have a couple of songs haunting me that I keep playing scenes over in my head.
