"All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer-one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going-one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful doings, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world."-Anne of the Island, Lucy Maude Montgomery.
When you are a student, the turning of the year is when the summer holiday starts. Christmas and New Year don't hold any especial meaning for me (apart from the excessive materialism, but that would take another journal entry).
Me? Being the good little Asian girl I am (sarcasm intended), I'll take a two week break and spend the rest of my time revising or volunteering. I'm tutoring little kids at the Wu Kai Sha Community Centre. Hopefully, I'll also manage to squeeze in some time volunteering/helping out at the Kids4Kids office.
For those of you who don't know, Kids4Kids is a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong. It aims at empowering teenagers to help other impoverished/ in need people. I've volunteered and helped out with them on some of the projects and I hope to work further with them. It's also a great choice for English-speaking Chinese kids as most of the activities are run in English.
Yeah, so, that rounds off my entry.
