Drugs?

As I'm sure everyone here knows by now, 26 kids were taken into the police station on Friday for suspected possession of drugs/alcohol, 7 of which were actually arrested.

Now, this raises a lot of questions. Was the bust planned? Why did they take in certain kids? Is the administration evil for doing this, and are their actions, as well as those of the law enforcement officials of over three towns, even legal?

To be perfectly honest, the whole situation is being blown out of proportion. I have no sympathy for any of the students arrested, and refuse to participate in any "Free So-and-So" rallies. It's nobody's fault but their own that they brought drugs to school, and I'm sick of everyone trying to play it off like they're innocent and the police are at fault. I've heard several complaints from students regarding 4th Amendment rights, especially about their cars being searched. When you sign the application for a parking space at school, you're agreeing that your car can be searched at any time. Your safety is in the hands of school officials during school hours. Ergo, you forfeit most of your rights to them as soon as you enter the building.

I feel that Nuzzo's handle on the school was never great, but it's declined exponentially since I came here. Even still, it wasn't her decision to have the lockdown in the first place. Lockdowns are mandated procedures by the state of Massachusetts, and it was chance that SHS was chosen. If you have a problem with it, take it to Beacon Hill.
