Better late than...
Watched the inauguration yesterday (except for the invocation, which I left the room for most of and muted the rest of).
Am relieved and hopeful.
Also, noticed that 'nonbelievers' actually got included along with the various religious. It seems like such a small thing, one word, but I think it's the first time I've heard the worldview I was raised in acknowledged as a valid part of this country.
I seem to kind of have a lot to say about that, actually, but I'm ill (aGAIN) and can't really make words work well enough, especially since it's tricky to start with. So I'll try another time.
Anyway, yay. Yesterday was a long time coming.
