Most 'goths' are a joke these days, especially 'cybergoths' - wtf is THAT all about?! Ugh. Over here Marilyn Manson and Murderdolls fans are considered 'goth' - everyone has forgotten about The Cure, The Mission, Sisters, Bauhaus etc. Mind you, I always saw the Cure as an indie band that a lot of goths just happened to like.

The girls today don't know who Marilyn Manson is. They were probably five when he was at his peak..The goth girls here are mostly listening to real bad techno with droll melodies (cough-combichrist)...Rock and roll is totally out out the equation here...Whenever I play a cure song on guitar in front of one of them, they think I'm sort sort of genius because they think I wrote the song.

Goth rocker, not a goth techie...

Oh yeah...Comedychisrt. True. I can't stomach that kind of stuff at all...but for some reason a LOT of them now claim to be Skinny Puppy fans. Erm....sure.
I keep forgetting Marilyn Manson has been around for so long. He seems so new really....probably due to my ripe old age!

Goth had a lot more class back in the 80's, not...like you say it's been infiltrated with trance and bad techno and it's just all...wrong now

it all went horribly horribly wrong...I've had to learn the spanish in my later life in order to pick up pretty girls these days.

Truly. I dated a few goth chicks in the mid to late 80's and definitely preferred that "look" over today's weirdness.

Pushing 40 and I still have a think for goth chick. Yeesh...
