Avengers.
It still amazes me when I read an article that mentions last year's Avengers movie and how it made over $1.5 billion in the United States box office. That's a ridiculous amount, much less the fact that it made $200 million opening weekend.
Ashley (my girlfriend) and I went to the midnight showing of it when it opened and the theater was maybe half-full. I thought it had a chance at cracking $100-120 million opening weekend...if you went by my crowd alone, you'd think that there wasn't a chance in hell that the movie would end up making $200 million in three days. Damn.
The number right there is still staggering almost a year later.
