I'm going to have to go with Itachi as well. With all of what you stated, he seems to be the one that would fit your wanting's of a child better.

I actually see more of Tenten, the traits you'd like in a child reminds me of her a lot, such as maturity or in between outgoing & shyness. :) I kind of saw some Future!Neji as well.

Actually, you know what? No. Shino anyway. He fits perfectly into your either/or catagory (he's not outgoing, but he's also not shy, only quiet), he's polite and has a lot of hobbies, and I've always had the vague feeling that he's fairly close to his parents. Just... leave him with his father to deal with the bug thing.
