these lovelines

Nov 30, 2009 21:21

Some crimson laughter, some memory song,
lights spill the pages, ice makes me strong
Fever to work it, water to dry
Ashes to ashes, clouds to the sky

I had me wishbone, I dreamt me a kite
to tie round my ribbon, to set me aflight
I sent her three kisses, I wrapped them in peace
she sent me a love note weaved into fleece

Of cats and of dragons, she wrote the first line
Of beauty and sparrows, and of cherrywine
I sat under plumtree, I breathed it alight
and held it so closely, with all of my might

So we flew through the feathers, we flew through the skies
Held on to each other, held on to the lies
For what's made of bone one day will be stone
And what's made of light
Will one day drown in night

But what's left never dies

These embraces
These lovelines
These traces of silver and fire

Are unbreakable ties
