All moved in, first week over!

I flew into Orlando last Saturday with four large bags full of the stuff I categorized as indispensable. I brought too much, and yet my room feels barren. Part of that is the lack of posters and wall hangings covering the walls. Anyways, we have a great place here, despite a few niggling difficulties. I'm sharing a condo with three guys: two software engineers from Tech and an artist from Cleveland. We've been getting along great and have been hanging out in a big group with some of the other interns in the apartment complex.

I really enjoyed X-Men 3 last night. I still imagine a "real" X-Men movie, directed with someone who understands the graphic novel aesthetic like Roberto Rodriguez, but it will never happen. Anyways,

The week started out with a few days of training and technical difficulties. The atmosphere at Tiburon is different from what I'm used to: everyone is pretty serious and very into their own work and there is no way to get to know everyone in a 600 person dev studio, so this was a week of adjustment for me. The quiet, serious atmosphere isn't the true Tiburon, as I found out on Thursday. The first floor held an open-house / party to show off their E3 demos. HR brought out an EA keg and the cubicles were filled with flying nerf darts and I breathed a sigh of relief as I headed back down to the first floor arcade to play some Guitar Hero and practice on the LOTR pinball table.

I definitely have enough to do, and my projects are pretty vital to our team's goals, so I feel useful but nervous at the responsibility I might have this summer.

So anyway, quick summary:

- I'm living in a nice, spacious condo down in Orlando. Drop me a line if you want to come visit!
- The EA interns are an awesome bunch. I'm looking forward to getting to know them better.
- Tiburon has already become a great place to work. The adjustment period is still ongoing, but I'm excited to get back to business!
- not too excited to not enjoy this beautiful three day weekend, though!

My room. Its kinda sparse at the moment.

Our condo. My room is the one on the top left!

The gazebo out by Shadow Lake, a few minutes walk from my place.

One half of the pool. I'm heading over there as soon as I finish this entry!

Outside the EA Tiburon building. I don't know exactly what I can take pics of inside, so this'll have to do for now.
