Old shoebox full of letters hidden under the stairs

Hello Livejournal,
It's been a while...

Last night O was talking about our old BHG livejournal infront of my other-half and after much squeezing, he shared the URL of the old blog. Now, my former exploits are in the hands of my fella and he's loving it.
It's been very nostalgic re-reading old exploits with C this morning. I've changed so much over the last 7 years. It's quite cringey reading back on how superficial some of my posts were.

The strange thing is, I kind of miss the me from 7 years ago.

I've also realised how important blogging was to me back then, it's great to have a record of people/places/events, stuff I definitely would have forgotten otherwise. It's also quite sad how many people I was friendly with in the past have moved away.

It's also really odd reading my thoughts and opinions on subjects that completely differ to my opinion now. I'd love to be able to give advice to that person and give him a heads-up on how certain things turn out.

The one major event of 2010 that I should blog about is buying an apartment.
My first Fisher Price house.
7 years ago I talked about getting on the property ladder a lot, I was tired of renting, and the longer it went on, the more frustrated I was, paying someone else's mortgage for them.
It's taken a lot longer to buy property than I ever imagined. In hindsight, it took a recession before I could properly afford to it. (and probably a good job too, I would be screwed now if I paid 2007 prices for a place).

I feel an odd sense of achievement buying somewhere, it feels as I've reached a milestone, that all my hard work has paid off. Like in a video game, I've reached the end of level 1, and defeated the end of level boss. Its a big step..

But now it's time for level 2... and you know what.... I think I'm bored of this game, perhaps tired of this console, I need to stop being a Wii and be more of a PS3.

In Other News
Still dating C, he's my longest ever bf, how did that happen?
Still running a magazine and website (won 2 big awards for it recently, hurray, but its still not making cash, boo!)
Still a workaholic and I know that has to change, having an office is nice though, hard to believe I ran everything from a kitchen table for almost 10 years.

Right - back to reading my old blog - much more exciting than this 2010 drivel.

peace out.
