Adventures in Skyrim, Part 8 through 13

Here's Part 8 through 13 of my Adventures in Skyrim, which combines my love for the game with what I think are bizarre things that happen...

Part 8

Viresse La Crosse, thief extraordinare, snuck around the shop. When she knew she was unobserved, she reached for the very fat coin purse.

Only to draw back and peer around wildy. She heard angelic voices singing. Surely, the gods didn't agree with her stealing? Especially so much, that they gave a beautiful chorus to go with it!

-----

I was playing Skyrim, wearing headphones. As I was practicing my sneak attribute, I suddenly heard beautiful singing.

Turns out a housemate was listening to Choir music while cooking in the kitchen (Which my room is next to).

Still, it gave me a start...

-----

Part 9

Viresse La Crosse looked at the room before her. "Gah... Walking sucks!" she thought to herself.

Then, she remembered... She was Dovahkiin! Dragonborn!

"Wuld... Nah... Kest!"

Using the whirlwind sprint shout, she quickly transversed the room... Only to splat against the wall in front of her. "Damn it..." she muttered before crumbling to the floor.

-----

This came about when I was tired of walking through a dungeon. Only to end up hitting a wall. I didn't splat and crumble, but I thought I should have!

-----

Part 10

Viresse stared, wide-eyed at Nurelion, the owner of the White Phial in Windhelm.

"What?" Nurelion snarled.

"You don't feel like bouncing, right?" Viresse asked. "That, or singing about being the only one?"

"Are you on Skooma or something?" the alchemist asked.

"Sorry," Viresse replied. "I don't know why I said that."

-----

I swear, the voice of the character Nuelion does the voice of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh...

-----

Part 11

"FIRE!" Viresse La Crosse, screamed, staring at the sconces under Gildergreen, the great tree sacred to Kynareth.

"Yeah?" the Whiterun guard replied. "So?"

"But... but... It's firepits, under tree branches. They should catch the tree on fire, starting a blaze that will level the town!" Viresse exclaimed.

"Praise be to Kynareth. No tree sacred to her will catch on fire," the guard replied before wandering off muttering about stupid Imperials.

"Can't catch on fire, huh?" Viresse muttered to herself, a gleam in her eye. "We'll have to test that..."

-----

I just can't wrap my head around the fire sconces directly under the branches of the sacred tree in Whiterun. Does... Not... Compute!

-----

Part 12

On a mission from the thieves guild, Viresse La Crosse entered the shop in stealth mode. She needed to switch the accounting books to cover a future theft.

"I'll sell anything! If I had a sister, well, I'd let you name your price!" the shopkeeper said aloud to, what was to him, thin air.

Viresse double checked. Yes, she was totally hidden. Maybe the shopkeeper just liked practicing aloud his statements?

-----

I'm sneaking around, totally unseen, and when I enter a shop, multiple shopkeepers say the same phrases they say if I weren't sneaking.

I always have to double check to make sure I'm still hidden...

Part 13

"Come over, come over!" the flamboyantly dressed man called, gesturing for Viresse La Crosse to come to the table he was feasting at.

Cautionly coming closer, Viresse reached the table and asked, "Your name, good sir?"

"Tell me," the strangely dressed man asked, half of his clothing purple, the other half orange. "How did you arrive here? I was sure I locked the door!" Pausing, he crinkled his eyes, "Then again, I think I locked the chest holding the pig instead. Oops. I hope it hasn't died yet. Then again... Bacon! Bacon is good!"

Viresse backed up from the strangely white visage. "Are you blind?"

"Mayhaps," the man grinned before taking his walking stick and balancing it upon his palm. "Now, how did you get here?"

"I would have your name first, good sir..." Viresse insisted.

"Why, don't you recognize the grand Prince of Madness, Sheogorath, himself?" the Daedric Prince exclaimed as he stood up. "Perhaps I should gut you for this? Or, mayhap serve some cheese. I like cheese."

Shaking, Viresse backed away from the feast table.

"Wait!" Sheogorath exclaimed. "Don't go! I have a surprise for you. It's a total shock! Maybe I'll kill you. Sudden Death! That's always surprising... Or, maybe I'll grant you an interesting power... The ability to create potatoes with souls! That'll be a surprise to people! Trying to cook potatoes only to have them berate and degrade them while boiling. Ooo... I'll have to remember that!'

Viresse shook her head and high tailed it out of the area, hoping to find a shrine of the eight, or even the nine. She wasn't picky when it came to protection from the Prince of Madness.

-----

This came about from meeting Sheogorath in the game. That, and I couldn't resist the Portal 2 references... I can just the the Daedric Prince of Madness knowing about homicidal computers bound to potatoes and thinking it would be awesome...
