I adore Single Malt Scoth.
I was first introduced to this elixir of life at the Scottish bidparty at ConJose in 2002. They were giving out samples of Scotch in thimble sized cups. I remember that the guy handing out the samples was named Robin [g]. When I went up for my fourth or fifth thimble sized 'sample', he pulled out a dixie cup and gave that to me. And, so, my love of Single Malt was born.
Now, I have a list in my cellphone and my ipod of single malts that I've tried and what I thought of them. Also, thanks to suggestions from people I've talked to and an article that I can't remember, I have a list of Scotchs that I someday I want to try.
It's quite funny to see the reactions of servers or bartenders when I pull out my cellphone and say "Wait one moment. I need to check my list." when they start to spout off their list of available single malts.
In case you're curious, here's a list of the ones I've tried and the ones I want to try. I've also added a few of the blends I've tried (Mostly, Johnnie Walker because of a gift set a dear friend got me...)

As you can see by the list, there's only been one Scotch I've ever tried that I hated. Glen Ord. It was so bad, I immediately pored it into my rusty nail from earlier (which is a drink that is a mixture of scotch and drambuie). That actually tasted exactly like grass. Icky!
Also, I lean towards the smoky ones, but I have to be careful... Ones that are too smoky, like Laproaig, make me want to smoke, and I refuse to start smoking again.
