Dry Erase Boards...

In Final Fantasy XIII, each character has roles. Basically, you can play a character as a Ravager (Black Mage), Commando (Fighter), Medic (White Mage), etc... And, you use a system that reminds me of Final Fantasy X to 'level up'. You gather crystal points for every thing you kill and then spend them to get power ups across a map created for each character...

So, I use a dry erase board to plot out the goals I have for the crystal points.

Also, at the bottom of my dry erase board, I put a T and a S. Then, I count the number of Treasure and Save points in that section of the guide. I put marks for each Treasure and Save next to the T and the S. When, I find them, I erase one mark. That, and I put a star next to the save point that has important stuff after per the player's guide so I can refresh my memory.

It works really well.

And, I'm saving the environment! Since I'm not using a notebook. I just write and erase...

[hugs dry erase boards]

Because I have two now... One for leveling up, one for notes for the section I'm in...

Yeah, I'm such a game geek.
